20+ Major General Charles Pasley served with a Detachment of the 12th and 40th Regiments under Captain Thomas at the capture of a stockade occupied by insurgents at the Ballarat Gold Fields in Australia on the 3rd Dec. 1854. Served on the Staff of Major General Pratt in New Zealand in 1860, and was severely wounded at the attack of a Pah on the 11th October (Brevet of Major, and Medal).

Major General Alex. Major General Patton commanded the Reserve in the fort of Agra on 5th July 1857, and was present at the action on the roth October. Served as Brigade Major at Futteypore Sikree in November, throughout the actions in the Chumbal ravines under Brigadier Showers (repeatedly thanked in despatches, Brevet of Major, and Medal). Major General Paynter served the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the affairs of Bulganac and M'Kenzie's Farm, the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, CB., 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

Major General E. N. Perkins served the Gwalior campaign, including the battle of Maharajpore 29th Dec. 1843 (Bronze Star). Served also in the Sutlej campaign (Medal).

370 Major General J. L. Pearse commanded a detachment sent in pursuit of the Cuddapah district rebels under Nursimah Reddy in 1846, and subsequently when a field force was formed for the suppression of the insurrection performed the duties of Staff Officer until it was broken up. Joined the 5th Madras Native Infantry in December 1852 during the Burmese war and served with it till May 1853 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu).

Major General J. Perkins served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, iucluding the attack on the Heights of Moorpooria (Medal). Served with the Force under Sir Charles Napier that forced the Kohat Pass in Feb. 1850; and with that under Sir Colin Campbell in 1851-52 and present at the capture and destruction of Dubb (Medal with Clasp). Served also in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857, and was wounded at the action of Timmoor Ghaut (mentioned in despatches, Medal).

Major General F. Phillips served throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and surrender of Mooltan, battle of Goojerat, pursuit and surrender of the Sikh army (Medal with two Clasps).

Major General J. H. S. Pierce served with Colonel Scudamore's Flying Column in 1859, also with Cap tain Meade's Field Detachment in the same year, and was present at the capture of Tantia Topee.

Major General T. Pierce served in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the battle of Aliwal (Medal). Also throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the affair of Ramnuggur, passage of the Chenab, battles of Chillianwallah (wounded) and Goojerat, and pursuit of the Sikhs and Affghans (Medal with two Clasps). Major General A. C. Pigou served in the Crimean campaign from June 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

Major General J. W. Play fair served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and surrender of Mooltan (Medal with Clasp). Also with the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1856-57, and was present at the storming of Reshire, capture of Bushire and Mohumra (Medal with Clasp).

Major General W. Playfair served with the 1st Sind Horse, with the 2nd Division of the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1857, and was present at the bombardment and capture of Mohumra (Medal with Clasp).

Major General Hon. C. D. Plunkett served with the 1st Royals in Canada during the rebellion of 1837-38. Also the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerinan, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Knight of the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).

Major General D. G. Pollard was employed with the Badamee Field Force in 1841, and was present at the storming of the Petta and subsequent surrender of the fort, and defence of the fort of Gudjundergurh. Was present during the Lege of Aden by the Arab tribes in 1846.

Sir Frederick Richard Pollock served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49; on the Sikh outbreak he was Assistant Resident at Lahore, and accompanied the Ferozepore column as Political Officer to Mooltan; served throughout both siege operations there with the force under Major Edwardes, but joined his own regiment for the assault of the town (thanked by the Commander in Chief for conduct when in command of detachments, Medal with Clasp). Employed in the expedition under Sir Charles Napier against the Affreedees in the Kohat Pass in 1850 (Medal with Casp). Accompanied as Civil and Political Officer the centre column in Major Nicholson's expedition against the Omurzye Wuzeerees. In 1857 had Civil Conduct of the expedition under Brigadier General Chamberlain to the Border Hills. Accompanied the Huzara Field Force of 1868 as Political Commissioner (mentioned in despatches, and thanked by Government of India).

1 Major General Whitworth Porter served the Crimean campaign from Feb. to May 1855, including the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

Major General B. J. C. Prior was present when the troops mutinied at Saugor in June 1857, served during the defence of the Saugor Fort under Brigadier Sage from June 1857 till February 1858 (shot by a musket-ball which passed rough the left and lodged in the right leg, the wound in left slight, in right very severe); was engaged with the rebels in July 1857, when they came to plunder the Saugor Cantonments, and was engaged in an action with the rebels at the village of Narraiowlce on the 18th September 1857, and severely wounded on that occasion (Medal).

Major General J. Puckle served in the Southern Mahratta campaign 1844-45; was present at the taking of the ghts in front of and surrender of Budderghur, at an outpost affair on the west side of Punalla, at the storm and ature of Punalla, and at the investment and occupation of the forts Powenghure, Munohur, and Munsuntosghur. es Major General J. R. Pughe served in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the affair of Buddiwal and act on of Aliwal (Medal).

ast Major General E. T. W. Purcell was present with three batteries of Royal Artillery under Colonel M'Crea in the revolution which upset the Emperor Fausti in Hayti in Jan. 1859; landed and protected the Europeans at Port a Prince, and carried off the Emperor, his family and ministers; received the thanks of the English and French

Major General F. G. S. Rawlins served throughout the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, and was present at the battle of Ferozeshah (Medal), and the operations before the Fort of Khote Kangra. Served as Quarter Master 4th 8kb Infantry in the Burmese war in 1852-53, and was present at the recapture of Pegu and many other subsequent operations in its vicinity, also in many minor engagements from Feb. to March 1853; with the expedition under Sir John Cheape against the rebel chief Myatoon, and commanded a Detachment of Sikhs at the capture of his strong hold at Donabue-severely wounded, and thanked in regimental orders for his "conspicuous gallantry in the field" (Medal with Clasp for Pegn). Provinces in June 1857 to raise and organiz a Militia Corps of European and Eurasian residents of Agra, and commanded the Militia when the station was attacked by the Neemuch mutineers at Agra on the 3rd July; also present at the engagement with the Mhow and Indore mutineers on the 10th Oct. 1857-mentioned in despatches, and thanked by the Government N.W. Provinces (Medal). Served in Bhootan and commanded the 1st Goorkhas from Dec. 1866 to Feb. 1867 (Medal with Clas) Proceeded in command of the 1st Goorkhas from Dhurmsala by forced marches in Aug. 1868 to join the Hazara Field Force and covered a distance of 430 miles in 24 days, and served throughout the campaign in Hazara s the Black Mountain; mentioned in despatches and thanked by the Viceroy, the Commander in Chief, the Govern of the Punjaub, and Sir A. Wilde, Commanding the Expedition (Clasp).

398 Major General G. A. Renny served in the Sutlej campaign from 24th January 1846, and was present at the bar's of Sobraon (Medal). Commanded the 5th (Native) Troop of 1st Brigade, Bengal Horse Artillery, which served faithfully throughout the mutiny (firing on the mutinous Cavalry and Infantry at Jullunder on the night of the th June 1857); and throughout the siege and capture of Delhi and subsequent operations in Mozuffernuggur Dietna and Rohilcund, ending with Sir Robert Walpole's action at Sisseah on the 15th Jan. 1859, for which action the Trop received the highest praise in General Orders by Lord Clyde and the Government of India. Every Native Officer received the Order of British India, and every Non-Commissioned Officer and man the Order of Merit for his services s Jullunder and Delhi. Commanded No. 4 Siege Battery covering the assault at Delhi on the 14th September 197 and then with Troop turned captured Ordnance in Cashmere Bastion on the City, and kept up fire until assanit the Magazine on the 16th, when the Troop turned the Mortars captured there on Fort Selimghar and the Palace. and continued fire until their capture on the 20th September. Received the Victoria Cross for defence of the a gazine after its capture on the 16th September, and was specially mentioned for services at Delhi in supplementary Despatch by Sir A. Wilson (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). Commanded "D" Battery "F" Brigade Rogy' Horse Artillery throughout the Hazara and Black Mountain campaign of 1868, the guns being carried by elephants (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp).

399 Major General R. Renton served with the expeditionary force in the north of China in 1865.

Served in the Afghan war of 1878-9 in command of the 8th Bengal Cavalry.

Major General Salusbury served in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46 and was severely wounded at the battle of Ferozeshah (Medal). Burmese war of 1852-53, including the recapture of Pegu on 21st Nov., relief of its garrison on 14th Dec., and operations in the vicinity (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Suppression of the Indian mutiny, and was present at the storm and capture of Lucknow, slightly wounded (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). "Commanded the 101st Fusiliers in the Indian N. W. frontier war of 1863 with the Eusofzaye Field Force, and was present at the attack and capture of the Crag Piquet, the Conical Hill, and Umbeyla (CB., Medal with Clasp).

Sandilands served with the 8th Regt. at the siege of Delhi in 1857, including repulse of sorties on 14th, 18th, and 23rd July (wounded by a splinter of a shell on the 10th August), and commanded the Light Company at the assault of the City (wounded); also present in the action of Dilkoosha and relief of Lucknow under Lord Clyde, the affair of the 2nd and action of the 6th December at Cawnpore, and action of Khudagunj (Medal with Clasps).

Major General J. P. Sandwith served throughout the operations in Sind in 1843, including the battles of Mecanee and Hyderabad (Medal).

46 Major General E. W. Sargent served with the 18th Royal Irish on the China expedition (Medal), and was present at Woosung, Shanghai, Chin Kiang Foo, and Nankin. Was subsequently Aide de Camp to Sir John Davis in China for three years, and acting Aide de Camp to General D'Aguilar during the expedition which assaulted and took the Forts of the Bocca Tigris in the Canton River; received a severe contusion on the head, and was favourably recommended by Sir John Davis to Lord Palmerston for his services on this occasion. Was appointed Adjutant of the 18th at the storming of Rangoon on Lieut. and Adjutant Doran being killed, and served throughout the Burmese war of 1852-53 (Medal).

Major General E. A. Saunders served under the orders of the Commissioner of Nagpore on various occasions against the rebels in Central India in 1858-59.

Major General W. B. Saunders served in the Crimean campaign from June 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

Major General E. W. S. Scott served in suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-58, including the battles of the Hindun on 30th and 31st May 1857, siege of Delhi, and operations of Brigadier Showers' Column (Mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp).

Major General J. Shekleton served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and capture of Moltan, and battle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). With the Persian expedition in 1857 (Medal with Clasp). With the Rajpootana Field Force in 1858, including the pursuit of Tantia Topee (Medal).

Major General J. F. Sherer served throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, and was present throughout Le siege operations before Mooltan, including the action of Soorjkoond, attack on the Suburbs, storm and capture of the City, and surrender of the fortress (Medal with Clasp). Led the Head Quarters of the Sylhet Light Infantry aso action against the mutineers of the 34th Bengal N.I. at Latoo, Sylhet district, on 17th Dec. 1857, succeeded to the emmand of the Corps on Major Byng being killed at the commencement of the fight and brought it out of action Aver defeating and routing the mutineers (Medal).

Major General H. Shewell served in the campaign in the Southern Mahratta Country in 1844-45, and at the capture of Samunghur.

Major General T. H. Sibley served at the siege and capture of Delhi in 1857 (mentioned in despatches, thanked by Government, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).

Major General H. T. Siborne served in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). Also in the expedition against the Basutas in Dec. 1852, having charge of the Pontoons by which the troops crossed the Orange and Caledon Rivers. Present at the action of the Berea, and mentioned in general orders.

Major General W. H. R. Simpson served the Crimean campaign of 1854 and up to June 1855, including the battle of Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, in the Trenches with the siege train, and bombardments of the 17th Oct. and 9th April (Brevet of Major, Medal with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honour, and Turkish Medal).

7 Major General H. D. Slade served with the 1st Dragoon Guards in the Crimean campaign from 10th Aug. 1855, melading the battle of the Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also in the campaign of 1860 in China; present at the fall of the Taku Forts, and engaged in the actions of 19th and 21st Sept. and in the advance on Pekin (Medal with two Clasps).

7+ Major General J. R. Sladen served the Gwalior campaign of 1843-44 and was present at the battle of Maharajpore

(Bronze Star). Campaign in Scinde under Sir Charles Napier against the hill tribes in Jan. 1845. Punjaub campaign in 1848-49, including the battle of Goojerat and pursuit of the Sikhs and Affghans to Peshawur (Medal with Clasp). Commanded a Field Battery with mountain guns attached on the disturbed frontier of the Punjaub from 1851 to 1861, and took part in most of the expeditions against and encounters with hostile tribes in which the Punjaub Irregular Force was engaged during that time, and was especially thanked by Government for the part he took in the encounter with the Rhabeakhel tribe of Ourukzie Affreedees in 1855 and was also especially mentioned for the expedition against the Bozdar tribe of Beloochees, and for the part he took with his Battery in the action forcing the strong Khan Bund Pass in 1857 (Medal with Clasp).

428 Major General E. Smalley served in the Sutlej campaign in 1846, including the action of Aliwal (Medal). Served also throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the action of Ramnuggur, and battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah, and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).

429 Major General C. H. Smith served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and (as a Volunteer attached to the Highland Division) in the Trenches with the siege train at the bombardments of 6th and 17th June; was present: the battle of the Tchernaya (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian Mutiny campaign of 1857-58, including the battle of Cawnpore on the 6th December, the affair of Kalee Nuddy, and occ pation of Futtelig hur. Commanded the Artillery at the affair of Kankur, as also the Artillery in Brigadier Hale Column in 1858-59, including operations before and taking of the fort of Sandee (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt. Colonel, Medal, and CB.).

430 Major General F. H. Smith served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49 with the force under Brigadier Whecer, and was present at the storm and capture of the Fort of Shahpore, assault of the Heights of Noorpore, engagemelos of Dunanuggur and Heights of Umb, and storming of the Heights of Dullah (Medal). Served with the force under Colonel Craigie against the Affreedies in March 1855 (Medal with Clasp). Commanded the 2nd Mahratta Hor with the force under Sir Robert Napier in the defeat and pursuit of the rebels under Feroze Shah at Ranode on 1-th Dec. 1858 (Medal).

430+ Major General J. A. Smith was present at the attack on the town and fort of Beyt in October 1859, and at the siege and capture of Dwarka in November of the same year.

431 Major General John Smith served during the campaign in Bundlecund in 1842-43. Also the Gwalior campaig and was present at the battle of Punniar 29th Dec. 1843 (Bronze Star). Commanded a Column in Roorkhee and Biguore districtfrom March to Nov. 1858; the Column was transferred to Philibeet frontier in Dec. 1858, and defented a Colent mutineers at Munglaghat in January 1859 (services four times brought to the notice of the Governor General India, Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel, CB., and Medal).

436 Major General Spence served with the 31st Regt. in the Crimea from 22nd May 1855, including the siege arde of Sebastopol and attacks on the 18th June and 8th Sept.; commanded the Regt. from 13th Nov. (Medal with Clash, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidic, and Turkish Medal). Commanded the 31st Regt. thro out the campaign in the North of China in 1860 and was present at the action of Sinho and storming of Ta (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts, and CB.). Also during the operations against the Taepings in the vicinit Shanghai in April and May 1862, resulting in the taking of the stockade at Nanhsiang, capture by escalade walled cities of Kadin, Tsinpoo, Tsolin, and the fortified town of Najow, and the affair at Nanhsiang. 437 Major General E. J. Spilsbury served in the Burmese war in 1852-53 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). 438 Major General J. F. Stafford served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49 (Medal); and with the Force unde Brigadier General Chamberlain in the Meeranzae Valley in April and May 1855, including the action of Darsza mund (Medal with Clasp). 440 Major General W. J. F. Stafford served throughout the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-58, including les and capture of Delhi (wounded the day of the assault). Commanded the 1st Punjaub Infantry after the ** sault and until the final evacuation of the city by the rebels. Was Brigade Major of the Hurrianah Field Fort and in command of a portion of it, and present at the surrender of Jhujjur, and action of Narnoul (mentionea despatches, and thanked by the Governor of the Punjaub). Strange served in India in 1857-58, and was present at the actions of Chanda, Sultaap”. and Dhowrara, siege and capture of Lucknow, actions of Korsee, Nawabgunge, Seragunge, affairs of .. and 29th July, passage of the Goomtee at Sultanpore, including affairs of 25th 26th 27th and 28th August, at Doadpore 20th Oct. 46 Major General F. W. Stubbs served in the Indian mutiny campaigns in 1858-59, including the action o” Nugeenah, capture of Bareilly, relief of Shahjehanpore, capture of Shahabad, actions of Pusgaon and Russoolp capture of Mithowlee, and action of Biswah-severely injured by his horse falling upon him (mentioned in despatch on five occasions, Medal).

4464 Major General W. O. Swanston served in the Indian mutiny campaigns, and was employed with Gen ** Havelock's Volunteer Cavalry from 9th July 1857 to 22nd March 1858, and was present at the actions of Futtely Aoung, Pandoo Nuddee, Cawnpore, Onao, and Busserut-Gung (both actions), Bhittoor, Mungarwar, Alamba and entry into Lucknow 25th September, when he was wounded; at the evacuation of Lucknow a5th Novembe 1857, at the Alumbagh with Sir James Outram's Force from 29th November 1857 till 8th March 1858, and fra capture of Lucknow 15th March 1858; was employed by General Havelock in carrying despatches from Allahabad,

40 miles through the enemy's country and bringing reply thereto, which he accomplished in 36 hours on one horse (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service).

447 Major General T. W. Swettenham served with the 21st Regiment in the Crimea from 22nd May 1855, and was present at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attacks of the Redan on the 18th June and 8th September (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also served throughout the campaign in the north of China in 1860, including the action of Sinho and storming of Tangku (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts).

Major General G. Swiney served during the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46. During the Sonthal rebellion in 1855-56. Also in the Indian mutiny campaigns of 1857-59, and was present at the relief of Azimghur, engagement with the rebels under Koer Sing, and other skirmishes; employed as Commissariat Officer with the Azinghur Garrison until its relief by Sir E. Lugard; subsequently served with the force under Brigadier M'Duff in Bundlecund, including the action of Suhao and Burrah; commanded the Jaloun Military Police in an engagement with the mutineers at Rohain on 14th May 1859 (Medal).

Major General Henry Strover served in the Crimean campaign from June 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the field in New Zealand war during 1860-61, and commanded the Royal Artillery during the greater part of the war in the Taranaki (Brevet of Major, and Meda!).

Major General H. T. Stuart served during the second Burmese war (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Major General E. L. Taverner was present with the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1856-57, and at the landing at Hallilah Bay, storming and capture of Reshire, surrender of Bushire, during the forced march on Borazjoon, occupation of the enemy's entrenched camp, and night attack and battle of Khooshab (Medal with Clasp).

Maior General H. D. Taylor served in the Burmese war in 1852-53, and was present at the relief of Pegu in December 1852, and at the second investment of Pegu by the Burmese in January 1854 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Major General H. J. Templer served in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-59, including the battle of Cawnpore on 6th Dec. 1857, operations on the Goomtee, siege of Lucknow, actions of Koorsie, Calpee, and Ranode (menoned in despatches, Medal with two Clasps).

Major General J. Thacker was present at the action at Ambapawnee. Served with the Bombay Column in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and surrender of Mooltan (Medal with Clasp).

Commanded the 21st Bengal Native Infantry in the Abyssinian campaign (mentioned in despatches, Medal). Major General G. H. Thompson served in the Sutlej Campaign in 1845-46, and in the Punjaub Campaign in 1848-49. Served in the Afghan War in 1878-79, and commanded the 6th Bengal Native Infantry at the capture of Ali Musjid. Was also present in the subsequent operations in the Khyber and Bazar Valleys, and commanded column which defeated the enemy in the Bazar Valley (mentioned in despatches).

Major General J. Thompson served the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, and was present at the battles of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, Aliwal, and Sobraon; was wounded by the explosion of a gun-limber at Ferozeshah, and very severely wounded by grape-shot in right breast at Sobraon (Medal and three Clasps). Major General E. Tierney served with Sir Sydney Cotton's Force on Eusoofzie border in April and May 1858 (Medal with Clasp).

Major General H.V. Timbrell served throughout the Sutlej Campaign of 1845-46. Served in the Hazara Campaign 1851-52, including the affair of the Black Mountain and the taking of the hill forts of Umband Kotah (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Indian Mutiny in the defence of the Alumbagh and siege of Lucknow (Medal with Clasp). Major General A. Tisdall was engaged in frequent affairs with the mutineers in the Shahabad district, their dispersion from Jugdespore, and pursuit into the Rotas Hills, where he commanded the 35th Regiment in a #ccessful night surprise of the enemy on the 24th November 1858 (Brevet of Major and Medal).

Major General H. Le P. Trench served throughout the campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan under General Pollock, ending the forcing of the Khyber Pass and the different engagements leading to the recapture of Cabool (Medal). Served in the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-58 including the battle of Nuijufghur (horse killed) several engagests under the walls of Delhi and the final assault as Orderly Officer to Brigadier General Nicholson; after the fall of Delhi accompanied the force under General Showers as Brigade Major throughout the operations in the Goorgaon trict; also served as Brigade Major with the Column under General Seaton and was present at the actions of ngheree, Puttialee, and Mynpoorie (Brevet of Major, Medal with two Clasps).

Major General J. S. Tulloh served in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the affair of Buddiwal and te of Aliwal (Medal). Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat Medal with two Clasps). Commanded the Royal Artillery throughout the operations of the expedition of 1863 ast the tribes on the North-West Frontier of India, and was present at the storming of Laloo and capture of Umbeylah (Brevet of Major, CB., Medal with Clasp).

Major General A. W. Twiss served in the Crimean campaign from May to July 1855, including the siege of Schastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served at Canton with the Force under Rear Admiral Seymour in 1856-57. Also with the expedition of 1860, and present at the surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Copy).

Major General E. Tyrwhitt served the Gwalior campaign and was present at the battle of Punniar on 20th December 1843 (Bronze Star). Served also in the Punjab campaign of 1848-49, including the siege of Mooltan Severely wounded) and battle of Soroojkhoond-wounded (Medal with Clasp). Received the thanks of Government the capture of a rebel in the Hazara Hills in 1853. Again received the thanks of Government for services against the Busee Kheyl Tribes while commanding the frontier fort Mackeson in 1855 (Medal with Clasp). Major General R.
