This being the time and place of meeting of the ThirtyFourth Annual Convention of the Church in the Diocese of Indiana, the Assistant Bishop and a number of the Clergy and Lay Delegates assembled in St. Paul's Cathedral Church, at ten o'clock a. M. Morning prayer was said by the Rev. Dr. Austin, and the Revs. Richard Brass, Richard Totten, Walter Scott, and Humphrey Hollis, the Ante-Communion service by the Rev. Jos. S. Large, of this Diocese, and the Revs. B. Morgan and A. W. Snyder, of the Diocese of Illinois. The Convention Sermon was preached by the Rev. Treadwell Walden, Rector of St. Paul's Cathedral Church, Indianapolis, from St. John xx; 21, Acts i; 8, and St. Luke xxiv; 47. The Rev. Frederick P. Cummins (presented by the Rev. George J. Magill,) and the Rev. Abraham V. Gorrell (presented by the Rev. Wellington Forgus,) Deacons, were advanced to the Holy Order of Priests by Bishop Talbot, several of the Clergy present uniting in the laying on of hands. The Holy Communion was then administered by the Revs. B. Franklin and J. B. Wakefield, D.D., the Bishop acting as Consecrator, who was assisted in the distribution. of the elements to the Laity by the Revs. B. Franklin, J. B. Wakefield, D.D., Wellington Forgus and Edward J. Purdy. After the conclusion of Divine Service, the Convention was called to order in the Chapel, by the Assistant Bishop, and upon calling the roll the following persons answered to their names, viz.: OF THE CLERGY.
