Extent of Repeal. CAP. XXVI. (Assented to 15th April 1891.) An Act to consolidate and amend the Acts of this Island relating to the chapels of Saint Mary, The Holy Innocents, Saint Ann, Saint Saviour, Saint Simon, Saint Clement, Saint Swithin, The Holy Trinity, and Saint Martin. E it enacted by the Governor, Council, the authority of the same, as follows: : 1. The chapel of St. Mary, in the city of St. Mary's Chapel Bridgetown shall be, and the same is hereby to be governed and declared to be subject to the provisions of managed in the the several Acts of this Island relating to same manner as other Chapels. the management and government of parish churches, chapels, and other places of di vine worship within this Island, and to the regulation of pews, seats, and sittings therein, so far as the clauses and provisions of the said several Acts extend to and affect the management and government of chapels, and the regulation of pews, seats, and sittings in the same. The chapels mentioned in the sched- placed under the ule to this section annexed shall be and are control of the veshereby declared to be respectively under the try. control of the several vestries of the several parishes in which they are respectively situated; and the respective vestries are hereby fully authorized to exercise the same powers and control over the chapels placed under their control as are at present exercised by them by law in respect of the parish churches, and the respective vestries are hereby authorised and empowered to maintuin the said chapels respectively at the cost of their respective parishes in the same way as the parish churches are maintained by them, anything to the contrary notwithstanding. The several Acts mentioned in the schedule to this Act are hereby repealed to the extent mentioned provided that (1) Any enactment or document referring to any Act or enactment hereby repealed shall be construed to refer to this Act or to the corresponding enactment in this Act. (2.) This repeal shall not affect (a) The past operation of any enactment hereby repealed nor any thing duly done or suffered under any enactment hereby repealed; or (b) any right, privilege, obligation, or liability acquired, accrued, or incurred under any enactment hereby repealed; or (c) any penalty, forfeiture, or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against any enactments hereby repealed; or (d) any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right,. privilege, obligation, liability, penal ty. forfeiture, or punishment as aforesaid; and any such investigation, legal proceeding and remedy may be carried on as if this Act had not passed; or (e) any Act in which the enactments hereby repealed have been applied, incorporated or referred to. (3.) This repeal shall not revive any enactment, right, office, privilege, matter or thing not in force or existing at the passing of this Act.
