* James Iredell married Miss Hannah Johnston, sister of Gov. Samuel Johnston and daughter of Samuel Johnston He was appointed by President George Washington as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Was one of the most prominent leaders of the Revolution in North Carolina, and many of his public papers and letters written in the interest of Independence have been preserved in "McRee's Life and Correspondence of James Iredell." He is buried near Edenton in the burial lot of the Johnston family at Hayes. We hope to give a more extended notice of him and his family in a future issue of the REGISTER.
