To the memory of the celebrated Henry Fielding, who is interred without a monumental ftone in the Factory burial ground at Lisbon, round which is planted many Cypress Trees. By Capt. E. THOMPSON.

WHILE pompous monuments adorn these tombs,

And every ftone an Epitaph affumes;

To tell the Pedigree of fool and fot.
From whom defcended---and by whom begot,
Yet all these plodding dunces can refuse
A Stone---and Epitaph---to thy fweet mufe!
There needs no marble o'er fuch facred bones,
To tell the fame of Fielding and Tom Jones;
For what these fools refus'd---kind Nature
A grove of cyprefs to adorn thy grave.
