LEGACY AND PROBATE DUTY.-The amount of Legacy Duty paid in 1854 was, in Great Britain, 1,458,211l., on a capital amounting to 55,091,4347.; in Ireland, the duty was 71,073l., on a capital of 3,282,7271. In this return the succession duty, under the 16 and 17 Vict., cap. 51, is included.
