The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth. Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel, be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not.

shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the Lord, and shall water the valley of Shittim. Ezek. xlvii. Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the fore front of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the outer gate by the way that looketh eastward; and behold, there ran out waters on the right side. And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over; for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. And he said unto me,

Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. Now, when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea; (the Dead sea) which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be -healed. And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the rivers cometh. And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it, from En-gedi even unto En-eglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets: their fish shall be according to their kinds,

as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many. But the miry places thereof, and the marshes thereof, shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. And by the river, upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed; it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary; and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, the city of righteousness, the faithful city. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and Is. iv. 3. he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem. CHAPTER VII.

Of the Holy City, New Jerusalem.

Rev. xxi 2. " xxi. 9.

AND I, John, saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, (third Jerusalem,) coming down from God out of heaven. And there came unto me one of the seven angels, saying, come hither, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, aud showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending -out of heaven from God, having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; (see the description in xxi. chapter of Revelations,) and I saw no temple therein : for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon to shine in it; for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof for there shall be no night there. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither what

Of the Restoration of Israel.

Is IT not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest? And it shall come to pass at the same xxxviii. 18-time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, sayeth the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face. And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and Is. xxxii. great hail stones, fire and brimstone. CHAPTER IX.

Of the First Resurrection.

FOR we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in the body, according that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, 2 Tim. ii. 16. but we shall all be changed. Shun profane babblings; for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker; of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus; who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Lk. xiii.28. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and sit down in the kingdom " xiv. 14. of God. Thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of "xxiv. 39. the just. Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have, and they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and of an honey-comb. And he took it and did eat before them. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands, and they lived and reigned with Christ thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again Dan. xii. 2. until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince that standeth for the children of thy people: and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting Rev. xx. 6. contempt. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first xx. 7-8. resurrection: on such the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: there is a natural body and a spiritual body: so also is the resurrection of the
