The priest gave him hallowed bread; for there was no bread there but the shew bread, that was taken from before the Lord.-1 Sam. xxi, 6.

He arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb, the mount of God. 1 Kings xix, 8.

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his and, which he had taken with th tongs from off the altar and he laid it upon my mouth, and said, lo, this hath touched thy hps, and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.-Is. vi, 6, 7. Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.-Prov. ix, 5. The poor shall eat and be satisfied.—Psalm xxii, 26.

Thou shalt prepare a table before me against them that trouble me: Thou hast anointed my head with oil, and my cup shall be full.-Psalm xxiii, 5.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, since the time that their corn and wine and oil increased.-Psalm iv, 8.

That He may bring food out of the earth, and wine that maketh glad the heart of

man,

and oil to make him of cheerful countenance. and bread to strengthen man's heart.—Psalm civ, 15.

Corn shall make the young men grow, and the new wine the maids.-Zech. ix, 17.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat: yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?-Isaiah lv, 1, 2.

He hath given meat unto them that fear Him.-Psalm cxi, 5.

I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk; eat, O friends; drink, yea drink abundantly, O beloved.-Solomon's Song v, 1.

From the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto My name, and a pure offering; for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts-Malachi i, 11.

O taste and see that the Lord is good.Psalm xxxiv, 8.

What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits towards me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.-Psalm cxvi, 12, 13.

will I compass thine altar, O Lord.-Psalm xxvi, 6.

If thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee; leave there thy gift before the Altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Matthew v, 23, 24.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.— Psalm xxiii, 5.

I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.-John vi, 51.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you.-ver. 53.

Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.-ver. 54.

For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.-ver. 55.

He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in him.-v. 56.

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the

communion of the body of Christ.-1 Cor. X, 16.

For we being many are one bread, and one body, for we are all partakers of that one bread.-ver. 17.

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and the table of devils.—

ver. 21.

As often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death, till He come.-1 Cor. xi, 26.

Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.-ver. 27.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.-ver. 28.

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.ver. 29.

This do in remembrance of Me.-ver. 25.
