"CUPID IN AN AEROPLANE. Love came to Miss Florence Crabtree, of Burton-on-Trent, through Cupid's own domain-the air-and as a sequel she was married on Thursday, at Woolston, Berkshire, to Lieut. Wingfield Smith, Army Flying School, Farnborough.

"Lieut. Smith's meeting with the lady was quite accidental. One day last autumn he started from Farnborough for a long aeroplane flight. Descending in a meadow at Burton, he proceeded to the Queen's Hotel, where Miss Crabtree was employed as barmaid. It was a case of love at first sight, and the lieutenant has flown to Burton many times since to see his fiancée, delighting the townspeople with his clever flying feats."

Two of Germany's latest aeroplanes. Above, the latest Albatros (109-h.p. Mercèdés), and below the Rumpler (100-h.p. Mercèdés). These and the other photographs of the newest German machines were brought out of Germany by Mr. W. E. de B. Whittaker after war had actually been declared.
