CHAP. V. i He exhorteth the elders to feed their flocks, 5 the younger to obey,
8 and all to be sober, watchful, and constant in the faith : 9 to resist the cruel adversary the devil.
THE elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a o partaker of the glory that shall be revealed :
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; 'not for filthy lucre, but of a ready? mind;
16 commend their souls to the faithful Creator in good deeds. Rh. 'as much as in you is. A. V. 2 cheerful. Bi. Acts, vii. 59: They stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 2 Tim. i. 12: I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
