EXEMPLIFIED BY PAUL: Acts 9:20. Straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. vs. 20-29.

Acts 14:22. Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 15:26. Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. vs. 30-36,41.

Acts 16:31. They said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. vs. 10,13,17.

Acts 17:2. Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. 16. His spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. 17. Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him. vs. 22-31.

Acts 18:5. Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. 6. And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles. 4,19,23; Acts 13:16-52. vs.

3. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

Rom. 10:1. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. Rom. 11:13,14.

Rom. 15:19. From Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20. Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: vs. 15–32; 2 Cor.

10:14-16.

1 Cor. 1:17. Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 23. We preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

1 Cor. 2:1. I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. 13. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. vs. 6,7. 1 Cor. 3:1. I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

vs. 5--7.

1 Cor. 4:12. Labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: 13. Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. vs. 1-21.

1 Cor. 9:16. Though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 18. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 19. Though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 22. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23. And this I do for the gospel's sake, 27. I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. vs. 12,15,17, 20,21.

1 Cor. 10:33. I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

1 Cor. 11:1. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

1 Cor. 13:1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

1 Cor. 15:3. I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 10. By the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11. Whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. 31. I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. vs. 1-32.

2 Cor. 1:12. Our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. vs. 17-19,24.

2 Cor. 2:17. We are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. vs. 12-16.

2 Cor. 3:6. Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 12. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

2 Cor. 4:1. Seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2. But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 5. We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 13. We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak. vs. 8-15.

2 Cor. 5:11. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. 13. Whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 14. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 20. We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. v. 18.

2 Cor. 6:3. Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed. 4. In all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, 5. In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings: 6. By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, 7. By the word of truth, by the power of God, by

the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, vs. 8-10.

2 Cor. 7:2. Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

2 Cor. 10:3. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

2 Cor. 11:9. And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. vs. 7,12.

Gal. 2:2. I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. Gal. 3:1.

Gal. 4:19. My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Gal. 5:11. I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

Phil. 1:18. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 20. According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 24. To abide in the flesh is more needful for you. 25. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; 27. That whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; vs. 22,23; Phil. 2:16,17.

22. Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I. 23. Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25. In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27. 1 Thess. 1:5. Ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, 1 Thess. 2:2. Even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. 3. Our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: 4. As we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 5. For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: 6. Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. 8. Being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. 9. For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. 10. Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: 11. Ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, 2 Tim. 1:3,7,11-13.

2 Thess. 3:7. Yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; 8. Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: 9.
