25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against5 itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

f MAT. vii. 16, 17: Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit: but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. LUKE, vi. 43, 44: A good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit: neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit: for every tree is known by his own fruit. MAT.. xii. 35: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

ECCLES. xii. 14: For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. EPH. v. 4, 6: Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient; but rather giving of thanks. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
