TO PATRONS AND CORRESPONDENTS.

Again old Father Time brings round the year, and with it the "Old Farmers' Almanac." We have to thank our friends for their continued favor, and to express our hope that we may continue to deserve it. It is our aim to make the Almanac accurate and trustworthy, but errors creep into all books, and ours may not be eatirely free from them. We shall be greatly obliged to any of our friends if they will inform us of any inaccuracy, however slight, in any part of the Almanac. The tides are given on the quarter hour nearest the actua! time, as in the last few years. The times of meeting of the County Commissioners are given by themselves, as a matter of convenience, on page 5, where is also, a list of Registers in Bankruptcy, for New England.

Our agricultural articles will be found worthy the attention of all interested in that subject. We commend also to the notice of our New England farmers the article on Birds and Insects, page 44. The schedule of Stamp Duties, on pages 42 and 43, and the table of Post Office Regulations, on page 48, will be useful for reference.

The list of Colleges and Professional Schools, on page 4, has been made more complete, and the Normal Schools have been added.

Any one having a perfect copy of the Almanac for 1793, 1795, or 1807, will find a purchaser by addressing the publishers.

We close in the words of the founder of this Almanac,-"It is by our works, and not by our words, we would be judged: these, we hope, will sustain us in the humble though proud station we have so long held.
