Receiving the Blood of our Saviour, he says:

Taking the firft Ablution, he fays:

Grant, O Lord,that

what we have taken with our mouth we may receive with a pure mind, that of a temporal gift it may become to us an eternal remedy.

Lord, which I have received, and thy Blood, which I have

Ablution, he says: Corpus tuum, Domine, quod fumpfi, & Sanguis quem potavi, adhæreat vifceribus meis;

Having wiped his fingers, and the Chalice, he covers it, and then going to the book, reads a verfe out of the holy Scripture, call'd the Communion, which is different every day; Then goes to the middle of the Altar, and turning to the people, fays:

R. And with thy

spirit.

Then going to the book, he fays the prayers call'd the Poft-Communion; which are different every day, and therefore cannot be here fet down.

At the end of the Poft-Communion, the Clerk anfwers, Amen. And the Priest going to the middle of the Altar, turns about, and says: Dominus vobif- P.

Then bowing before the Altar, he fays:

O holy Trinity, be
pleafing to thee, and
grant, that the Sacri-
fice which I unworthy
have offered up in the
fight of thy majefty,
may be acceptable to
thee; and thro' thy
mercy, be propitiatory
to me, and to all thofe
for whom I have offer-
ed it.

Thro' Christ

placeat tibi, fancta Trinitas, obfequium fervitutis meæ, & præfta, ut facrificium quod oculis tuæ majeftatis indignus obtuli, tibi fit acceptabile; mihique, & omnibus pro quibus illud obtuli, fit, te miferante, propitiabile. Per Chrif tum Dominum noftrum Amen.

While the Prieft is reading the Communion, and Poft-Communion, you may say the following prayers.

At the COMMUNION.

LET it be now, O Lord, the effect of thy mercy; that we, who have been present at this holy mystery, may find the benefit of it in our fouls.

At the POST-COMMUNION:

WE give thee thanks, O God, for thy

mercy, in admitting us to have a part in offering this Sacrifice to thy holy name: Accept it now to thy glory, and be ever mindful of our weaknefs.

Then he turns to the people, and gives them his bleffing, making the fign of the cross over them with his hand, faying:

This was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was made nothing which was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men; and the light fhineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man fent from God, whofe name was John. This man came for teftimony, to give teftimony of the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light; but to give teftimony of the light. It was the true light, which enlightneth every man that cometh into this world.
