Then he fays the Prayer or Collect, which is

different for every day. Seek for it in its proper Place, where you will also find the Epifle proper for the day. At the end of the Collect, the Clerk anfwers, Amen; and at the end of the Epiftle, Deo gratias, thanks be to God.

After the Epifle follows the Gradual or Tract, which is to be found in its proper place.

At the end of the Gradual or Tract, the book is removed to the other fide of the Altar: In the mean time the Prieft ftands bowing down at the middle of the Altar, and fays:

UR heart is ready, our heart is ready, O bleffed Trinity, Father, Son, and holy Ghoft to offer up this Hoft of praise to thy fovereign Majefty, which we humbly befeech thee gracioufly to accept.

Here follows a Verse of the Scripture, call'd the Offertory, which is every day different.

Then the Priest uncovers the Chalice, and taking the Paten in his Hands, offers up the bread, faying:
