AS one whom his mother comforteth, so will I

comfort you.

ISAIAH lxvi. 13.

WE have no tears thou wilt not dry:
We have no wounds thou wilt not heal:
No sorrows pierce our human hearts,
That thou, dear Saviour! dost not feel.

Thy pity like the dew distils;

And thy compassion, like the light,

Our every morning overfills,

And crowns with stars our every night.

HARRIET MCEWEN KIMBALL.

WE beseech thee, O Lord, give strength to the weary, aid to the sufferers, comfort to the sad, help to

those in tribulation, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

BEING knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding.

COL. ii. 2.

SWEET is the smile of home, the mutual look
When hearts are of each other sure:

Sweet all the joys that crowd the household nook,
The haunt of all affections pure.

KEBLE.

THOU giver of all good, who by the grace of the Holy Ghost hast poured the gifts of love into the hearts of thy faithful people, grant unto us thy servants, that we may love thee with all our strength, and with perfect affection fulfil thy pleasure, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THOU therefore endure hardness, as a good

AL

soldier of Jesus Christ.

STRONG in the Lord of Hosts,
And in his mighty power;

2 TIM. ii. 3.

Who in the strength of Jesus trusts,
Is more than conqueror.

Stand, then, in his great might,
With all his strength endued;
And take to arm you for the fight,
The panoply of God.

CHARLES WESLEY.

LMIGHTY GOD, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen.

LORD, what wilt thou have me to do?

ACTS ix. 6.

OH may thy soldiers, faithful, true, and bold,
Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,
And win, with them, the victor's crown of gold.

O blest communion, fellowship divine!
We feebly struggle: they in glory shine!
Yet all are one in thee, for all are thine.

Allelulia.

REV. W. W. How.

ALMIGHTY GOD, who dost enkindle the flame of thy love in the hearts of the saints, grant to us the same faith and power of love: that as we rejoice in their triumphs, we may profit by their examples, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MARK the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

PSALM XXXVii. 37.

THERE are in this loud stunning tide

Of human care and crime,

With whom the melodies abide

Of the everlasting chime :

Who carry music in their heart,

Through dusky lane and wrangling mart,
Plying their daily task with busier feet,

Because their secret souls a holy strain repeat.

KEBLE

GIVE thy servants grace, O Lord, that they be not slothful in business, but fervent in spirit, serving thee, in this world, that so at last they may enter into thine unspeakable rest, through the merits of thy Son, Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
