3 Bright in that happy land
Beams every eye,

Kept by a Father's hand,-
Love cannot die.

On, then, to glory run;

Be a crown and kingdom won;
And bright above the sun,
Reign, reign for aye!

FAT

"God over all."

ATHER of all, whose powerful voice
Called forth this universal frame;
Whose mercies over all rejoice,

Through endless ages still the same;
Wisdom, and might, and love are thine:
Prostrate before thy feet we fall;
Confess thine attributes divine;

And hail Thee sovereign Lord of all!
2 Blessing and honour, praise and love,
Co-equal, co-eternal Three,

In earth below, and heaven above,
By all thy works be paid to Thee!
Thrice holy thine the kingdom is;
The power omnipotent is thine;
And when created nature dies,
Thy glories shall for ever shine.

KNOW that my Redeemer lives:"
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead
He lives, my ever-living head!

2 He lives, all glory to his name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same:
O the sweet joy this sentence gives!
I know that my Redeemer lives."

Thy will be done."

God and Father! while I stray,

P.M.

M'Far from my home, in life's rough way,

O teach me from my heart to say,

Thy will be done!"

2 If Thou should'st call me to resign
What most I prize, it ne'er was mine;
I only yield Thee what was thine:
"Thy will be done!"

3 Renew my will from day to day,
Blend it with thine, and take away
All that now makes it hard to say,
Thy will be done!""

The prayer, oft mixed with tears before,
I'll sing, upon a happier shore,

Thy will be done!”

10 THOU, to whose all-searching sight

L.M.

The darkness shineth as the light,
Search, prove my heart; it pants for Thee;
O burst these bonds, and set it free!
2 While in this darksome wild I stray,
Be Thou my light, be Thou my way;
No foes, no violence I fear,

No fraud, while Thou, my God, art near.
3 When rising floods my soul o'erflow,
When sinks my heart in waves of woe,
Jesus, thy timely aid impart,
And raise my head, and cheer my

heart.

4 If rough and thorny be the way,
My strength proportion to my day;
Till toil, and grief, and pain shall cease,
Where all is calm, and joy, and peace.

Universal praise.

OD of mercy, God of grace,
Shew the brightness of thy face;
Shine upon us, Saviour, shine;
Fill thy church with light divine;
And thy saving health extend,
Unto earth's remotest end.

2 Let the people praise Thee, Lord!
Be by all that live adored;
Let the nations shout and sing,
Glory to their Saviour King;
At thy feet their tribute pay,
And thy holy will obey.

3 Let the people praise Thee, Lord!
Earth shall then her fruits afford;
God to man his blessing give;
Man to God devoted live;
All below, and all above,
One in joy, and light, and love.

Christ our Sacrifice.

all the blood of beasts,

S.M.

On Jewish altars slain,

Could give the guilty conscience peace,
Or wash away the stain.

2 But Christ, the heavenly Lamb,
Takes all our sins away;

A sacrifice of nobler name,
And richer blood than they.

3 My faith would lay her hand
On that dear head of thine,
While deeply penitent I stand,
And there confess my sin.

4 My soul looks back to see
The burden Thou didst bear,
When hanging on the cursed tree,
And knows her guilt was there.

5 Believing, we rejoice

To see the curse remove;

We bless the Lamb with cheerful voice,
And sing his bleeding love.
Messiah's advent and reign.

to the world, the Lord is come!
J Let earth receive her King:

Let every

heart prepare Him room,

And heaven and nature sing!

2 Joy to the earth, the Saviour reigns!
Let men their songs employ;

C.M.

While fields, and floods, rocks, hills, and plains,
Repeat the sounding joy.

3 No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;

He comes to make his blessings flow
Far as the curse is found.

4 He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love.

THE

God revealed.

HE heavens declare thy glory, Lord;
every star thy wisdom shines;

But when our eyes behold thy word,
We read thy name in fairer lines.
2 The rolling sun, the changing light,

L.M.

And nights and days thy power confess; But the blessed volume Thou hast writ, Reveals thy justice and thy grace,

3 Nor shall thy spreading gospel rest,
Till through the world thy truth has run ;
Till Christ has all the nations blessed

That see the light or feel the sun.
4 Great Sun of righteousness, arise !

Bless the dark world with heavenly light:
Thy gospel makes the simple wise,

Thy laws are pure, thy judgments right.
Daily mercies.

MY

God, how endless is thy love!
Thy gifts are every evening new ;
And morning mercies from above,
Gently distil like early dew.

2 Thou spread'st the curtains of the night,
Great guardian of my sleeping hours;
Thy sovereign word restores the light,
And quickens all my drowsy powers.
3 I yield my powers to thy command;
To Thee I consecrate my days:
Perpetual blessings from thine hand,
Demand perpetual songs of praise.
Redeeming love.

1OME, let us all unite, and raise

A cheerful song of grateful praise
To God, our God, who reigns on high,
Whose mercies are forever nigh.

2 Bring praises for our Father's love,
Who saw us from his throne above,
Blind, naked, wretched, sunk, and lost
And brought relief at boundless cost.
3 That cost, the gift of his own Son :
Oh wondrous love! the Holy One
Given freely up to death, that we,
The slaves of sin, might freemen be!
