4 What though my heart and flesh shall fail
God is love.

Through Christ I shall o'er death prevail:
God is love.

If Jordan swell I will not fear,

My Jesus will be with me there,
My head above the waves He'll bear.
God is love.

5 In Canaan's land we'll sing again,

God is love.

And this shall be our loudest strain,

God is love.

While endless ages roll along,

We'll triumph with the shining throng,
And this shall be our only song,

God is love.

Omnipresence of God.

FATHER

L.M.

and friend, thy light, thy love, Beaming through all thy works we see ; Thy glory gilds the heavens above,

And all the earth is full of Thee.

2 Thy voice we hear, thy presence feel;
Whilst Thou, too pure for mortal sight,
Dost dwell in clouds invisible,

Dost reign the Lord of life and light.
3 We know not in what hallowed part
Of heaven's expanse thy throne may be ;
But this we know, wheree'r Thou art,
Strength, wisdom, goodness, dwell with Thee.
4 Thy children shall not faint nor fear,

Sustained by this delightful thought,
Since Thou, their God, art everywhere,
They cannot be where Thou art not.

"How much owest thou."

HEN this passing world is done,
When has sunk yon glorious sun,
When I stand with Christ on high,
Looking o'er life's mystery,

Then, Lord, shall I fully know,—
Not till then-how much I owe.
2 When I stand before the throne,
Clothed in beauty not my own,
When I see Thee as Thou art,
Love Thee with unsinning heart,
Then, Lord, shall I fully know,—
Not till then-how much I owe.
3 When the praise of heaven I hear,
Loud as thunder to the ear,
Loud as many waters' noise,
Sweet as harp's melodious voice,
Then, Lord, shall I fully know,—
Not till then-how much I owe.

The Spirit implored.

1OME, Holy Spirit, heavenly dove,
With all thy quickening powers,

Kindle a flame of sacred love

In these cold hearts of ours.

2 Dear Lord! and shall we ever live
In this ungrateful state?
Our love so faint, so cold to Thee,
And thine to us so great.

3 Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly dove,
With all thy quickening powers;
Come, shed abroad a Saviour's love,
And that shall kindle ours.

Communion of Saints.

YOME, let us join our friends above,
That have obtained the prize;
And on the eagle wings of love,
To joys celestial rise.

2 Let all the saints terrestrial sing,
With those to glory gone;
For all the servants of our King,
In earth and heaven are one.

3 The saints on earth, and those above,
But one communion make;

Joined to their Lord in bonds of love,
All of his grace partake.

4 One family, we dwell in Him,
One church, above, beneath;
Though now divided by the stream,
The narrow stream of death.

5 One army of the living God,
To his command we bow;

Part of the host have crossed the flood,
And part are crossing now.

6 Lo! thousands to their endless home,
Are swiftly borne away;

And we are to the margin come,
And soon must pass as they.

7 Lord Jesus! be our constant guide;
Then, when the word is given,

L

Bid death's cold flood its waves divide,
And land us safe in heaven.

The believer's joy.

ET sinners saved give thanks and sing,
Of mercies past, of joys to come;

C.M.

L.M.

The Lord their Saviour is and King,
The cross their hope, and heaven their home

2 Let sinners saved give thanks and sing;
Salvation theirs, the Lord their guard;
They find in heaven's eternal King,
The living God, their great reward.
3 Let sinners saved give thanks and sing;
Sweet is the subject of their song,
Who, made the children of a King,
Expect to sing in heaven ere long.
4 Let sinners saved give thanks and sing;
The Lord has kept in dangers past;
And, O sweet thought! the Lord will bring
His people safe to heaven at last.

THANKS

Thankfulness.
to my God for every gift

His bounteous hands bestow;
And thanks eternal for that love
Whence all those comforts flow.
2 For ever let my grateful heart
His boundless grace adore,

Which gives ten thousand blessings now,
And bids me hope for more.

3 Transporting hope! still on my soul
Let thy sweet glories shine,
Till thou thyself art lost in joys
Immortal and divine.

Glory to God.

LORY to God on high!
U Peace upon earth and joy!

Good-will to men!

Ye who his blessing prove,
Join with the hosts above,
Sing ye the Saviour's love,

Too vast to scan.

2 Mercy and truth unite,
This is a joyful sight,
All sights above!

Jesus the curse sustains,
Bitter the cup He drains;
No curse for us remains,
For God is love.

3 Love, that no tongue can teach;
Love, that no thought can reach ;
No love like his :

Heaven is its blessed source;
Death could not stop its course ;
Nothing can stay its force;
Matchless it is!

4 Join then this love to sing;
To God our praise we'll bring,
For sins forgiven.

Jesus, our Lord, to Thee
Honour and majesty,
Now and for ever be,

Here and in heaven!

The coming of Christ.

O! He comes, with clouds descending,
Once for favored sinners slain;

Thousand thousand saints attending,
Swell the triumph of his train.
Hallelujah!

Jesus comes; He comes to reign!

2 Every eye shall now behold Him,
Robed in glorious majesty;

Those who set at nought and sold Him,
Pierced and nailed Him to the tree,
Deeply wailing,

Shall the true Messiah see.
