For Grace to prepare ourselves for Judg

ment.

AND give us all grace, most merciful Father, that, by the frequent instances of mortality which we behold, we may learn and seriously consider how frail and uncertain is our condition here on earth, and so number our days as to apply our hearts unto wisdom that in the midst of life thinking upon death, and daily preparing ourselves for the judgment which is to follow, we may have our part in the resurrection with Him, who died for our sins, and rose again for our justification, and now liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

And we humbly beseech thee to grant, that as we are made partakers of the death of thy Son, so we may be also of his resurrection; and that finally, with the residue of thy Saints, we may inherit thine everlasting kingdom; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. THE

COLLECTS

TO BE USED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

The first Sunday in Advent.

ALMIGHTY GOD, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious Majesty to judge both the quick and dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen.

This Collect is to be repeated every day, with the other Collects in Advent, until Christmas Eve.
