ACTUARY & SECRETARY-William Ratray, Esq.

The rates of premium of this Company are moderate, and have regard to economy as well as perfect security, the most important point to be looked to in a Life Assurance Society.

A septennial appropriation of profits, to be divided equally between the Assured for the whole term of Life and Shareholders, and may be applied either in addition to the sum assured, or in reduction of the future premiums. Assurances can be effected to any amount from £50 to £5,000.

1st.-On a scale entitling the policy-holder to a periodical division of profits. 2nd. On the reduced scale, by which only the original Sum Assured is secured, and which is peculiarly favourable to parties assuring for the purpose of securing a debt.

The payments of the premium may be so arranged as to meet the convenience or wishes of the Assured, and may be made in a single sum, Annually, Halfyearly, or Quarterly, on an ascending or descending scale, or for a limited term of years, &c., &c.

Credit of half the premiums for five years.-When an assurance is effected for the whole term of life, one half of the Annual Premiums may remain on credit for Five Years at 5 per cent. per annum interest, to be paid off at the expiration of the Five Years, or to remain as a charge upon the Policy as may be agreed upon.

AGENT FOR BRIGHTON.-Mr. F. Foster, chemist, &c., King's road. (Registered pursuant to Act of Parliament, 7 & 8 Victoria, cap. 110.)

Physician.-William Richard Basham, M.D., 17, Chester Street, Grosvenor Place. Surgeons.-Alfred Leggatt, Esq., Ebury Street, Eaton Square; George David Pollock, Esq., Sackville Street, Piccadilly.

Bankers.-Messrs. Cocks, Biddulph, & Co., Charing Cross.

Solicitor.-John Christopher Lethbridge, Esq., 25, Abingdon Street, Westminster.

THE LEADING FEATURES OF THIS SOCIETY ARE, \ First. The very moderate rate of Premium, when viewed as combined with Security to the assured.

Secondly.-The advantage to assurers (by table 2) of becoming entitled to Three-fourths of the Profits.

Thirdly. The assurance of a certain Bonus.

Fourthly. The facility for securing Debts.

Fifthly. The allowance of half the Annual Premiums to remain unpaid for Seven years.

And lastly. The accommodation of Temporary Loans to the assured on available security.

By the mode adopted at this Office the prudent man is enabled, by the payment of a moderate Premium, to secure a certain provision to his family in the event of his death, even should that take place immediately after the Assurance has been effected. For Example-a person aged 30, may, with this Society, assure his life for £500 by the annual payment of £11 38. 4d., which in a Society where the Bonus is held out as a main inducement, would cost him £13 78. 1d.; or in other words, for the same annual premium he could at this Office assure very nearly £600, whereby he derives at once a Bonus of £100.

Immediate and deferred Annuities are granted by this Society on liberal terms. EDWD. T. RICHARDSON, Secretary.

W. KELLY & Co. respectfully announce that they have now published the

POST OFFICE DIRECTORY OF THE SIX HOME COUNTIES.

VIZ.:

ESSEX, HERTS, KENT, MIDDLESEX, SURREY, & SUSSEX. The entire, including a Map of each County, prepared expressly for this work, at the price of 25s.

The want of a good Directory of the Home Counties has long been much felt in the Metropolis, now so closely connected with them by the various Railroads and Steam-boats. By its publication, facilities such as never before existed, are afforded for communicating with the Gentry, or with all the Members of any Trade or Profession THROUGHOUT THESE COUNTIES. To WHOLESALE ESTABLISHMENTS the Work must be of very great value, and to all who either have present transactions with the Gentry, Traders, or Farmers, or who would wish to communicate with them, it is indispensable.

It will not, however, on account of the immense expense incurred in its preparation, appear annually. It is calculated that once in six years is as often as such a work can be advantageously produced. When it is remembered that within the Six Counties there are upwards of eighteen hundred Cities, Towns, and Villages, all of which have to be visited by persons competent to the survey, the cost and labour incurred in the production of such a book as the

POST OFFICE DIRECTORY OF THE SIX HOME COUNTIES must be obvious.

W. KELLY & Co. have likewise published, with the same elaborate care, the

POST OFFICE DIRECTORY OF BIRMINGHAM.

and its environs, including Dudley, Wolverhampton, &c., with Warwickshire and South Staffordshire, with Maps.

It will probably be a sufficient recommendation of these Works to state that they have been prepared by the Editors of the Post Office London Directory, and that all the arrangements, typographical and otherwise, are identical with those of that Work, which has now been published for nearly half a century, and is without a competitor.

W. KELLY & Co., are now preparing uniform with the above, the

POST OFFICE DIRECTORY OF THE COUNTIES OF

CAMBRIDGE, NORFOLK AND SUFFOLK.
