This Society grants Insurances to meet every kind of Pecuniary risk contingent upon the duration of human life.

The advantages of the Mutual System of Association are afforded to persons insuring in this Office, by the division of four-fifths of the Profits among the Assured; the remaining fifth being applied to meet the risk incurred, and the share of the expenses borne by the Proprietary. Lower rates of premium are charged to Assurers desirous to commute the prospective advantages of Profits, for a higher fixed sum Assured to them in their Policies.

A Capital of One Million, constantly augmenting by the Returns of the business, provides the most ample security for the protection of the Assured; this is further guaranteed by the constitution of the Proprietary, all of whom, as provided by the Deed of Settlement, must be Members of the Legal Profession, and as such, known and responsible parties.

In cases where a Life Assured by another has gone beyond the limits prescribed by the Policy, without the knowledge of the party interested, the Society will upon his application and proof of the Life being then in a satisfactory state of health (but subject to their Medical Officers' approving of the risk as applicable to such Life) renew the Policy upon the same terms, as they would have required for its continuance had their consent been previously obtained.

The Rules are calculated on the lowest scale, consistent with security from the Government Returns. The Premiums may be made Annually for Life, or in one sum or by a limited number of Annual Payments (afterwards to cease) or upon a decreasing scale to suit the circumstances of the Party Assuring.

Assurances for the whole term of Life may also be effected upon an Increasing Scale, commencing at a Rate much below the ordinary Premiums, and exempt from any augmentation for a period of seven years.

All enquiries, whether by letter or personal attendance at the Office between the hours of Ten and Four, relative to the business of the Society, or Life Assurance in general, will meet with immediate attention.

The usual Commission allowed to all Solicitors.

ADVANTAGES OF THIS INSTITUTION.

The whole of the Profits divided ANNUALLY among the Members, after payment of five Annual Premiums.

An ample guaranteed Capital, in addition to the Fund continually accumulating from Premiums, fully sufficient to afford complete security to the PolicyHolders. HALF CREDIT RATES OF PREMIUM.

The attention of ASSURERS is particularly directed to the Half Credit Rates of Premium, by which means Assurances may be effected and loans for short periods secured with the least possible present outlay, at a less premium than for short terms only, with the option of paying up the arrears and interest, and the difference between the two rates, thus becoming entitled to participate in the whole of the profit of the institution.

The GREAT BRITAIN is the only Society in which this very great accommodation is given to the Assured. Transfers of Policies effected and registered (without charge) at the Office. Claims on Policies not subject to be litigated or disputed, except with the sanction, in each case, of a General Meeting of the Members, to be specially convened on the occasion.

LIFE DEPARTMENT.

The important advantages offered by this Society, are-that Insurers are protected by a large invested Capital, upon which there is no interest to pay, and for which no deduction of any kind is made ;-which enables the Directors to give the whole of the profits to Insuring Members.

The following table will show the effect of the reduction of Premium made by the Society on Members' Policies that have been five years in force :

The Abatement for the years 1842, 1843, and 1844, was at the rate of £45 per cent. each year, and for the year 1845, £50 per cent.

This system of reducing the Premiums affords immediate benefit to the Members, or enables them to Insure a further sum upon their Lives equal to more than onethird of the present Policy.
