Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and
his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and, Mary
Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and
the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his
mother, Woman behold thy son. Then saith he to the dis-
ciple, behold thy mother. And from that hour that disci-
ple took her unto his own home.-John xix. 25, 26, 27.
And Manoah said unto his wife, we shall surely die, be-
cause we have seen God. But his wife said unto him, if
the Lord were pleased to kill us, he would not have receiv-
ed a burnt-offering, and a meat-offering at our hands, nei-
ther would he have shewed us all these things, nor would,
as at this time, have told us such things as these.-Judges

And Nathaniel said unto him, can there any good thing
come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, come and
see. Jesus saw Nathaniel coming to him, and saith of him,
behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! Natha-
niel saith unto him, whence knowest thou me? Jesus an-
swered and said unto him, before that Philip called thee,
when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathaniel
answered and said unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of
God: thou art the King of Israel. Jesus answered and said
unto him, because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig
tree, believest thou? Thou shalt see greater things than
