withdrawal of the Breath, and consequent decline and extinction of the luminary.

Our sun having received the Breath from the central Spiritual Sun of the universe, our solar hierarchies are prompted by Love to transmit that Breath to each planet separately until its prime, and then to withdraw it during the remainder of the planet's life term. The inflowing Breath causes evolution, and the outflowing Breath, involution. For our planet and its races that involution began in the middle of the fourth round. The above is preliminary to the truth which we would make plain, that what one puts forth in the spirit of Love returns to him, because the law of Love is the law of circular motion.

To those who know, it is evident that a vast, circular current of Love-prompted Life extends from the heart of the central Spiritual Sun to that of every star, and a similar though smaller circle from every star to the heart of each of its attendant planets. Moreover, a love-circle extends from every inhabitant of any planet to each of those with whom his relations are wholly unselfish, and as far as possible helpful. Because this perfect love-circle is from heart to heart, the unreceptive are contacted no more than externally by the loveinfluence which, returning to the sender, benefits him alone. Should one prove receptive, the lovecircle becomes a closer and closer bond.

The love influence of the central Spiritual Sun

is always drawing the higher principles of stars, planets, and beings to oneness with itself, and so it is with the individual members of the human race, and so with all other races on all worlds whatsoever. The ancient saying: "As above so below," cannot be other than true, as it accords with the orderly procedure of the Divine Mind.

In his memorable saying: "Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my word, and open the door I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me," the Master was revealing the truth concerning the love-circle, though in a veiled way suited to the time, and to a people unable to grasp the deeper things of the higher life. The wise ones of olden days knew well that the human heart-that seven-fold cave of Buddhais a love-center wherefrom the buddhic loveenergy propels the physical blood, and its etheric correspondents, through the seven-fold body of man, even as the solar heart circulates the Great Breath-that life-blood of Kosmos-through every principle of every seven-fold planet within its field of action.

By means of the heart bond, the planetary Ruler would unite the whole human family in one group-soul, one communion of saints, one Nirvanic condition, with himself as the radiating center of the love-current which flows to the heart of the planet. Hence his words: "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men after me," are

true in a way not generally understood; but their fulfillment awaits the time of the new earth seen by the Revelator, the one to be when the first earth has passed away.

Were it not for the swift-circling ions, the physical atoms would disintegrate, and the physical world would disappear, and all creatures would miss the necessary experience acquirable only in material conditions. Owing to the nice balance of centripetal and centrifugal forces, together with a buddhic energy at the center of every sphere, the planets move in nearly circular orbits which may justly be deemed love-ordained, for were they much elongated, physical life of a high type and even super-physical life would be impossible on any of the "Sacred Seven." Again, the earth's axle motion is love-ordained that day and night, activity and recuperation, may alternate in a necessary and dependable way.

The seeming journey of the sun round the circle of the Zodiac during every twelve-month is loveordered that in turn the twelve Zodiacal powers may operate beneficially upon the earth and its every creature especially man, to whom, as a reasoning being, they often send future welfare in the guise of present misfortune. Then there is the great processional cycle which allows every sign about 2,160 years in which to impress its characteristics indelibly upon this world and its host of intelligences.

Our satellite is an object whose loss would be deplored were her waning glory never to grow again. Surely her monthly cycle is one of love, as attest the bards who have sounded her praises from immemorial years.

We have demonstrated that, for its duties, pure love even in the individual-utilizes the energized Life Breath whose motion is circular, as when it emanated from the very Heart of Being. Now it should be said that hatred, when sufficiently concentrated, can turn the Breath to its own base ends, and for the following reason: Divine Wisdom has decreed that every thinking being shall learn the value of well-doing; the good man through the sure return of his good deeds, and the evil man through a like procedure in respect to his evil deeds. In Nature's dealing, whether with worlds or world dwellers, no hate-circle is employed. Such a circle does not exist among creatures of less intelligence than man. The Life-Breath will not lend itself for this purpose to those incapable of perceiving the lesson it teaches. The brute beast may raven, but he generates no Karma, since he does not understand.

If one open not his heart to hate, it merely returns to the hater as love returns to the sender under the same condition. If a hater be receptive, a hate-bond is formed, and the two or more are drawn closer and closer. Were it not for the remedial Law, all haters in the world would

eventually be forced into a group constituting a veritable Swedenborgian hell of devils continually clashing, but never able to separate.

the chapter "Sex Division and Reunion," found in the third volume of this series, it was explained that through the division of the sexes, man received higher and lower Manas and personal will in their positive aspects, besides Buddhi and Kama in their negative aspects; whereas woman received Buddhi and Kama as positives, likewise higher and lower Manas and personal will as negatives, while spiritual will, from the great Ocean of life, was shared equally by both sexes.

In the division of the original androgynous being, repulsion rent the foundation atoms of the body, so that the positives and the negatives were apportioned to male and female in the manner mentioned. These would remain their property until the time of reunion as one perfect being. The separation of the original human being corresponded with that which occurred in the sun when condensed from the nebula to an orb of vast size. The result of this separation was two orbs, of which our sun is the negative and smaller, and the other the positive and larger.
