central object was to establish focal points of the buddhic Kundalini at the proper stations in Palestine. Later, many other force centers would be placed at certain localities throughout the Roman Empire.

Although the common people heard Jesus gladly, they were easily led in two directions, as was evidenced by the hosannas of Palm Sunday, and the cries of "Crucify him" on the following Friday; but most unfortunate of all for the nation, was the implacable hatred of those in authority. So the battery with Messiah as positive, and the nation as sympathetic adjuncts, could not be formed.

Ideal conditions well established, the Master's buddhic Kundalini would have become effectively operative through at least seventy centers in Palestine, and many more in other places. Then would have resulted a bloodless victory in that the hearts of the Roman rulers would have been softened toward a weak province of their vast domain, and they would have seen to it that Judea was restored to that glory which was hers in the days of Solomon the King. It is significant that the English people, who are the old Romans reincarnated, have been the means of returning to the Jews the long lost home of their ancestors.

The great sidereal clock shows that, since the birth of Messiah, the wheel of time has almost completed a revolution requiring about two

thousand years. Old conditions are coming back, but with a better mien, and these are accompanied by new ones peculiar to our age and its civilization. The next World Teacher is to be a buddhic Master whose wielding of the Kundalini will be more open and pronounced than ever before.

No doubt he will essay to establish certain force centers not merely in one country, but in many. This should be possible, because of the knowledge of Jesus the Christ which, during the last few centuries, has been carried to every inhabited spot on the globe. We have reason to believe that Palestine will be especially favored in that the chief center is to be there. It is reasonable that, in the selection of these centers, the north, the south, the east, and the west should be favored.

On the surface, it seems that the World War has upset conditions essential to the establishment of these centers. A deeper view reveals that Horror to have been an indispensable preliminary, for it lifted a heavy burden of World Karma long in accumulating. Besides it otherwise furthered the bringing in of the thousand years of peace to begin at the Second Coming, and for which the troubled world has long waited with that deferred hope which maketh the heart sick.

THE SILENT WATCHER

When comes the Silent Watcher from his habitation,
And his descending feet have met the earthly floor,
God grant he finds between our coasts a peaceful nation,
Its tocsin and its war-drum urging nevermore!

If so, he proffers to our land the dove's green giving;
The sword of judgment rests all hidden in its hold;
His iron sceptre weighs not on a subject living

The law of him who governs in the Age of Gold.

That Age has been, and then became a fading glory,
But on Time's turning wheel again it meets the view:
From peaks of mind, the theme of half-forgotten story
Lifts on the vision till the East is morning new.

The fool will say, a look of wisdom wearing,

The Master's promise grave was but mistaken speech. His mission here at variance with their own declaring, Shall vex the seeming wise who in their temples teach.

Of Bethlehem we read upon the fadeless pages,

And Palestine of old wherein his deeds were done, But, standing high upon the crest of all the ages, Shall he continue well his righteous work begun

When Roman rulers saw-and in their look was scorning-
A petty province humbled to the Cæsar's will,

Poor dullards ye! Did not Judea hold a warning
That to your pagan gods betokened much of ill?

When comes the King, how soon he curbs their senseless fury Who quarrel, like to thoughtless children, land with land! Ah! these shall know him their convicting judge and jury, And feel the sentence, heavy on the red of hand.

To mutual service our best powers will he be setting,
Since deeds of mercy rather than of blood are due.
Greed shall be loser in that time of honest getting.
And men and women to each other shall be true;

And they must live the life who fill the lofty places

In his wide realms comprising all this peopled sphere; Honor shall dwell with those who guide the humble races, And Father-love shall in their temperate rule appear.

As maker and unmaker whom the world is needing,
He comes; the nations are but wax before his will.
Broadcast his wisdom shall the open heart be seeding,
And of the tall upgrowth the wise shall have their fill.

In some, his faithful in the old historic city,

A glance revives remembrance till they understand; Others, who aided in a deed devoid of pity,

To gloomy caverns slink, by poignant fear unmanned.

The upright he salutes with words of kindly greeting,
While on the froward, all of stern rebuke is hurled:
Comrades estranged he counsels that they come to meeting,
And swell the nucleus of an all-harmonious world.

The little ones can love the man of gracious bearing,
For by a subtle sense they feel their love returned:
To those who sorrow, on their life's hard road wayfaring,
He giveth strength and cheer wherefor their hearts have
yearned.

What gain when East and West in his just hand are holden, And North and South united face each morrow's joy! Bound close to law, they know the chain is pure and golden, Its every welded link is free from base alloy.

Prophetic voices tell the thousand years before us
When ills shall lessen, passing one by one away.
The great Path-Shower here, and all his angels o'er us,
We reach the better Eden of the promised day.

TEMPERATURES ON THE SPHERES OF OUR GLOBE

CON

CHAIN

ONSTRUCTING our seven-fold world of concentric spheres, the solar Hierarchies poured into the sixth in ascending series, the fire of Buddhi or Divine Love, and into the third they poured that polar opposite of Buddhi, the kamic fire. This fire, originally pure, afterwards became crude, because attracted toward the physical globe. From contact with these two primeval fires, the seven-fold world grew fiery throughout, the physical globe markedly so, because of heat generated by the contraction of its bulk.

Notably dull and unimpressible, the physical globe gradually lost sympathetic vibration with the kamic globe, and in after ages became cold and seemingly dead. Were it not for the heat which the physical sun sheds upon the surface of the physical globe, its teeming life would cease in a vast, icy sepulchre.

The sun is a fiery center, and each of its seven divisions or spheres transmits a peculiar fire. During physical life we are conscious of physical fire only, but out of the physical body, and on the
