Auditors-Mr. EAGLE WILLETT; Mr. ANTHONY BAILEY; Mr. JAMES R. HARDY, This Society has now been established upwards of FORTY YEARS, upon the principles of MUTUAL ASSURANCE; and it has paid to the representatives of FOUR THOUSAND deceased members, upwards of £3,000,000 sterling; in addition to which nearly ONE MILLION has been assigned by way of Bonuses. The Capital of this Society, for meeting existing engagements, exceeds Two MILLIONS, and is almost wholly invested on Real and Government Securities. The Reserved Fund upon the 30th of June last exceeded 174,000. There is no PROPRIETARY to divide with the ASSURED the PROFITS of the Institution, which are therefore periodically assigned in additions made to the sums assured on all Policies for the whole duration of Life, in proportion to the amount of Premium paid. From the 30th June, 1850, to the same date, 1851, 521 New Policies were taken out, a number strongly demonstrating the public confidence in this Society. One-half of the first Five Annual Premiums may remain as a permanent charge upon Policies granted for the whole duration of Life.

This Company was established in 1807, is empowered by the Act of Parliament 53 George III., and is regulated by deed enrolled in the High Court of Chancery.

It was originally a strictly proprietary one. Subsequently the assured were admitted to a septennial participation in profits, and received their first bonus in 1840. At the second division of surplus, in 1847, it was determined that the future divisions should be quinquennial. Hence the next one will take place in 1852.

The Company now ranks amongst the largest and most wealthy in the kingdom. To the present time (1850) the assured have received, in satisfaction of their claims, upwards of One Million Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand Pounds.

The amount at present assured is Three Millions nearly, and the income is about One Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Pounds.

At the last division of Surplus, about One Hundred Thousand Pounds was added to the Sums assured under Policies for the Whole Term of Life.

The lives assured are permitted in time of peace to reside in any country, or to pass by sea (not being seafaring persons by profession) between any two parts of the same hemisphere--distant more than 33 degrees from the Equator-without extra charge. Deeds assigning Policies are registered at the Office, and Assignments can be effected on forms supplied therefrom.

The Annual Reports of the Company's state and progress, Prospectuses and Forms, may be had, or will be sent post-free, on application at the Office, or to any of the Company's Agents.
