CHRIST sheweth who is fit to be bis Difciple.

Luke AND there went great Multitudes with him : and

xiv. 25.

turned and said unto them,

26. If any Man come to me, and hate not his Father, and Mother, and Wife, and Children, and Brethren, and Sisters, yea, and his own Life also, he cannot be my Disciple. 27. And whosoever doth not bear his Cross, and come after me, cannot be my Disciple.

28. For which of you intending to build a Tower, fitteth not down first, and counteth the Cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

29. Lest haply after he hath laid the Foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it, begin to mock him,

30. Saying, This Man began to build, and was not able to finish.

31. Or what King going to make War against another King, fitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh againft him with twenty thousand ?

32. Or else while the other is yet a great way off, he fendeth an Ambassage, and defireth Conditions of Peace. 33. So likewife whosoever he be of you, that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my DISCIPLE.

34. Salt is good: but if the Salt have lost his Savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

35. It is neither fit for the Land, nor yet for the Dunghil; but Men cast it out. He that hath Ears to hear, let him hear.

And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church: and the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on Earth, shall be bound in Heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loofe on Earth, shall be loofed in Heaven. Then charged he his Disciples, [L.] and he straitly charged them and commanded them, to tell no Man that Thing (Mr.) of him, [M.] that he was Jesus the Christ.

[Mr.] And he looked round about

on

on them which fat about him. [M.] And he stretched forth his Hands towards his Disciples, and faid, Behold my МотHER and my BRETHREN. For (a) whofoever shall Do the WILL of my FATHER which is in Heaven, the fame is my Brother, [Mr.] and my Sifter, and Mother. [L.] My MoTHER and my BRETHREN are these, which HEAR the WORD OF GOD, and DO IT.

Rom. viii. 14. For as many as are led by the SPIRIT of Gon, they

are the SONS of God.

15. For ye have not received the Spirit of BONDAGE again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of

16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our Spirit, that we are the CHILDREN OF GOD.

17. And if Children, then HEIRS; Heirs of God, and joint Heirs with Chrift: if fo be that we fuffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

1 Johr iii. 1. Behold, what manner of Love the Father hath beftowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God: therefore the World knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2. Beloved, now are we the SONS of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shail be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be LIKE him, for we shall SEE HIM as HE IS.
