We learn by a letter lately received from France, that a short time since, a young gentleman of this University, dressed in full academics, paraded the gardens of the Thuilleries, at Paris. He, of course excited the attention of all who saw him, but he appeared not to consider himself as an object of notice, and continued walking with as much sang froid as if he had been in the

High-street. Sometimes he lounged on a seat and played with the strings of his gown. He was not molested in the slightest degree; no one spoke to him, and he at length walked coolly out of the garden and returned to his hotel.

On Sunday evening, December 9, as Lord Muncaster and Mr. Stirling, of Christ Church, were coming to London from Oxford, in a tandem, about the two mile-stone the wheel horse getting his foot upon a loose stone, came down and precipitated both into the road. His Lordship escaped without injury, but Mr. S., who was driving, received a contusion, being thrown with some violence under the heels of the leader; he was, however, not so much hurt as to prevent his resuming the reins.

We understand that a voluntary and wholly unsolicited testimonial, signed by the present and late Churchwardens of Frome, and above five hundred persons, who have regularly and exclusively attended the parish church there, has been presented to the Rev.
