CLOSE OF VOLUME VI.
We have now conducted the " Ladies Garland," to the end of another volume. The next
number will begin its seventh year, when we shall introduce some new arrangements. It
will be published hereafter under a name a little different from the present one, and the
form of it will be so changed as to make the postage on it only half of what it now is,
though it will contain about the same quantity of paper. Its typographical appearance will
be much improved, and the embellishments, at least some of them, will be very handsome,
and all of them useful or pretty. We have the promise also of several orignal articles from
writers of the first order; and expect to give some of them in the next number. We hope
all our present subscribers will continue their favors, by remitting the amount of subscription
in advance for the next year; and that those who are in arrears will pay up what they owe.
But we entreat all who do not wish it any longer to let us know without delay, as it is very
annoying, and a serious loss, to allow us to send the work from one to six months, (and
some nearly twelve months,) and then inform us they do not want it, without paying what
is already due.
