TO PATRONS AND CORRESPONDENTS. ONCE more, dear friends, we come before you with our little annual, now grown venerable with age, and wish you all a happy New Year, - happy with successful work; happy without work it will hardly be in this world. Well, let us all take hold, and see what we can do. Who knows? Perhaps we may bring something good to pass this year. What do you say?

The tables of courts, post-office regulations, tide-tables, &c., will be found to their usual places. Our friends will confer a favor by informing us of any errors or changea. We tender our thanks to various correspondents for their letters and suggestions. In the hope of continuing to deserve and receive your favor, we close in the words of the founder of this Almanack:

“ It is by our works, and not by our words, we would be judged: these, we hope, will sustain 18 in

the humble though proud station we have 80 long held.

Aoro. Phomas."
