Farmer's Calendar.

IF the ground is not covered with snow, it is best to haul out manure and spread it as a topdressing on grass land. Some fields are so soft that they are poached and cut up at other seasons; but they are hard enough now, and a good dressing will help them and keep up the growth of grass. It is a good rule to spread right from the cart, far better than to dump in heaps to lie over winter. Fields that were fed down closely in the fall need this protection very much, and the manure cannot be put to better use. It will not do to rob our grass-lands to feed the hoed crops. That has been the fault of too much of our farming, and Cold and blustering it is time to change it and try weather. something else. Grass or hay is
