AN ACT to amend an Ordinance to consolidate and
amend the Laws relating to the Registration of
Deeds, Wills, Judgments, and Conveyances affecting
Real Property.

1. This Act may be cited as the Registration of Deeds short title. Amendment Act, 1923.

Section six of the Ordinance passed in the nineteenth Amendment year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled "An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the Laws relating to the Registration of Deeds, Wills, Judgments, and Conveyances affecting Real Property," is hereby repealed, and a section is inserted in place thereof, as follows:—

AN ACT to apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand Pounds, and from Moneys to Credit of the General Loan Fund Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds, and from Moneys to Credit of the Government Property Sales Fund Eighteen Thousand Pounds, and from Moneys to Credit of the Land Improvement Loan Fund Two Thousand Pounds to the Service of the Year ending 30th June, 1924.

WF, Your Majesty's Most Dutiful and Loyal Subjects,

the Members of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia in Parliament assembled, towards making good the supply which we have cheerfully granted to Your Majesty in this Session of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the sum hereinafter mentioned, and do, therefore, most humbly beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted: And be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. There shall and may be issued and applied for or towards making good the supply granted to His Majesty for the service of the year from 1st July, 1923, to 30th June, 1924, the Sum of Six Hundred and Eighty Thousand Pounds out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, and from Moneys to Credit of the General Loan Fund Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds; and from Moneys to Credit of the Government Property Sales Fund Eighteen Thousand Pounds;

and from Moneys to Credit of the Land Improvement Loan Fund Two Thousand Pounds; and the Treasurer of Western Australia is hereby authorised and empowered to issue and apply the Moneys authorised to be issued and applied.

AGREEMENT.

AN ACT relating to the Supply of Electric Current in the
Belmont Park and Queen's Park Road Districts.

E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the Electric Light and Power short title. Agreement Amendment Act, 1923.

2. The Agreement set out in the Schedule to this Act is Ratification of hereby ratified.

Extension of powers.

3. The powers conferred on the City of Perth by the Perth Municipal Gas and Electric Lighting Act, 1911, and the Electric Light and Power Agreement Act, 1913, may be lawfully exercised, and the said Acts shall have effect, within and throughout the Belmont Park Road District; and, notwithstanding anything contained in the Electric Light and Power Agreement Act, 1913, the Commissioner of Railways may, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Government Electric Works Act, 1914, construct and maintain works and supply electric current, and such last-mentioned Act shall have effect, within any portion of the Queen's Park Road District, notwithstanding that such portion may be situated within a radius of five miles from the General Post Office in Perth.

THE SCHEDULE.

AN AGREEMENT made the twentieth day of September, 1921, between the Honourable Sir James Mitchell, K.C.M.G., Premier of the State of Western Australia, acting on behalf of His Majesty's Government of the said State, and hereinafter referred to as the Minister (which term includes the Premier of the State of Western Australia in office for the time being), of the first part, the City of Perth of the second part, and the Commissioner of Railways for Western Australia of the third part, as follows:—

1. This Agreement shall be read as one with and is supplemental to the Agreement ratified by the Electric Light and Power Agreement Act, 1913.

2. As between the Commissioner of Railways (in whom the powers vested in His Majesty's Government of Western Australia by the Electric Light and Power Agreement Act, 1913, and the Agreement set out in the Schedule to that Act are, by the Government Electric Works Act, 1915, now vested) and the City of Perth, it shall be lawful, at all times hereafter, for the City of Perth to supply electric current to all persons and bodies corporate for all purposes throughout the Belmont Park Road District as now constituted; and the Minister, on behalf of His Majesty's said Government, hereby covenants with the City of Perth that the Commissioner of Railways shall not, at any time hereafter, without the consent in writing of the City of Perth, supply electric current to any person or body corporate for any purpose within the boundaries of the said Road District.

3. As between the City of Perth and the Commissioner of Railways, it shall be lawful at all times hereafter for the Commissioner of Railways to supply electric current to all persons and bodies corporate, for all purposes, in that portion of the Queen's Park Road District as now constituted, which is situate within a radius of five miles from the General Post Office in Perth; and the City of Perth covenants with the Minister that it will not, at any time hereafter, supply electric current to any person or body corporate for any purpose within any portion of the Queen's Park Road District, notwithstanding that such portion of that district is situated within a radius of five miles from the General Post Office in Perth.

4. The City of Perth hereby agrees to sell and the Commissioner of Railways hereby agrees to purchase the poles, mains, service lines, transformers, and all other plant, apparatus, and things (with the exception of meters) which have been installed by the City of Perth for the supply and distribution of electric current in the Queen's Park Road District, as the same are set out in the books of the City of Perth, at the cost to the City of Perth of supplying, installing, and erecting the said articles as shown by its books and vouchers. The purchase shall be completed forthwith by payment by the Commissioner of Railways to the City of Perth of such cost as aforesaid on delivery by the City of Perth to the Commissioner of Railways of the said effects hereby agreed to be sold.
