On 19 FLA 33 INTRODUCTION. ACCORDING to lexicographers, the "Oasis" is well understood to be a bright, refreshing spot, in a barren and sandy desert. How far this may be considered true of the "Leaves of Friendship," compared to the many valuable and meritorious works already before the public, designed for the gentler sex, the compiler leaves for its readers to judge.
