(k) For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might take away our sins; destroy the works of the devil; and turn us from the power of Satan unto God.

(1) Our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

(m) The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law; but thanks be to God who giveth us the victory, through our Lord Jesus. Christ, whose blood cleanseth us from all sin.

Therefore:

(9) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: And we, that were some times alienated, and enemies in our mind by wicked works, are reconciled to God by the death of his Son, by whom we have now received the atonement.

(r) As by one man's disobedience many were made sinners; so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

(s) Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth, and doth not go about to establish his own righteousness: For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

(t) We are washed, we are sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God; and being purged from our sins, and having purified our souls in obeying the truth, he will present us holy, and unblameable, and unreproveable, in the sight of God.

(2) If the blood of bulls and of goats sanctified to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who offered himself without spot to God, purge our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

(w) By the will of God we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. By which offering Christ hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified: So that those who are

redeemed from among men, are without fault before the throne of God; and are complete in Christ.

LIFE.

(x) Since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

(y) The Son of man came not to destroy mens lives, but to save them; who hath abolished death through the gospel.

(≈) He came that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly.

(a) Jesus is the resurrection and the life; and because he liveth, we shall live also: For he which raised up the Lord Jesus, shall raise us up also by Jesus.

(b) He will ransom us from the power of the grave: He will redeem us from death. O death, he will be thy plague! O grave, he will be thy destruction!

(c) There shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. And the sea shall give up the dead which are in it, and death and hell shall deliver up the dead which are in them; and all that are in the graves shall come forth. they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

(d) The Lord Jesus Christ shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body. It is sown in corruption, dishonour, and weakness; but it shall be raised in incorruption, glory and power. It is sown a natural body, but it shall be raised a spiritual body and as we have borne the image of the first man, who was of the earth earthy, we shall also bear the image of the second man, who is the Lord from heaven. Neither can we die any more, for we shall be as the angels of God in heaven.

(e) We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed; in a moment, at the last trump, when the dead shall be raised incorruptible; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then they which are alive, and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so they shall ever be with the Lord. And there shall be no more death.

(f) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? For then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

HAPPINESS.

(g) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world

to save sinners.

(b) The Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost; that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. And if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son; much more then, being now reconciled and justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

(i) God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtained salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ; in whom believing, we rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.

(k) He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with. him also freely give us all things? God shall supply all our need, according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

(1) God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

(m) Grace and peace are multiplied unto us, through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord; according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness.
