Respectfully submitted, JOHN HILLIARD RANGER, Committee. The minutes of to-day's session were read and approved. WEDNESDAY, 7:45 P. M. The Convention re-assembled, and after collects said by the Bishop, the Rev. Charles Morris, who had been designated to prepare a report for the Board of Missions, explained that the report he had prepared had been lost, together with his valise and its other contents, on his way to the Convention. He then made a verbal statement as to the mission work of the Diocese, and was followed by Rev. A. B. Nicholas, Rev. R. C. Wall, (on Foreign Missions,) and Rev. J. Everist Cathell. The Bishop followed with earnest words upon the need of systematic and earnest work in the Diocese. Rev. Dr. Jenckes presented an apportionment among the different parishes and missions of the amount needed for Diocesan missions, and the same was recommended to the Board of Missions. Rev. J. Everist Cathell urged that each communicant be requested to contribute at least one dollar per annum for that fund. Rev. Dr. Kemp urged earnestness and zeal on the part of all members of the Church. The offerings were then received for Diocesan Missions. |
