study is to end here, or that it can avail us any thing without the continuance of that graceof God. As we have before said, that renewal of our nature, by which our conformity with Christ is to be effected, is to be the work of our whole lives; not to be put off from day to day, but begun in earnest, and instantly, for we are only sure of the present moment. In this state of mind let us make the word of God our constant study, then we shall appreciate the memorable saying of our Lord, as Son of man, "My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." (John vii. 16, 17.) We shall indeed be ready to acknowledge, by the comfort which it affords us in this world, and by the cheerful prospect which it gives us of the next, that the doctrine can only be from God. Amen.

"What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease." (Ps. xxv. 12, 13.)
