mummo THOMAS GOODMAN begs to inform the Inhabitants of the City and County of Gloucester, that he is LICENTIATE for the exclusive use of the above valuable material in the County of Gloucester, and is prepared to execute any quantity of work with Asphalte that may be required. Asphalte is now in extensive use-about 80,000 Feet has been used in this country; it has been used in France for many years, and is patronised by the Government of that country, and by many dis tinguished individuals in this. It is especially adapted for the following and other purposes. viz : For Foot-pavements, Carriage-drives, covering Terraces (with cellars or other offices under them), the Floors of Cellars and other Basement Offices (to prevent water rising), Floors of Stables, Coach-houses, Barns, Cow-houses, Dairies, Piggeries, Poultry-houses, Dog Kennels, Sen-rooms, Warehouses, Malt-houses, Roofs, the covering of Railroad and other Arches. It will prove invaluable in covering the horizontal lines of the walls of new buildings to prevent damp rising, thereby rendering the superstruc ture perfectly dry. It is recommended by her Majesty's Commissioners on the Fine Arts for that purpose, aad bas been used in the Walls of the New Houses of Parliament, at Queen Elizabeth's Hospital, Berkeley place, Bristol ; at the Gloucester County Gaol; and other Public Buildings. It is also applicable for the Lining of Cisterns, and other hydraulic purposes. Specimens may be seen in Messrs. Sturge's and other corn-warehouses; at the Docks, Gloucester; and in front of the County Bank, Gloucester.
