One answered, Master, I brought my son which hath a dumb spirit to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

His disciples asked, Why could not we cast him out?

He saw a fig-tree, and found nothing thereon.

And presently the fig-tree withered away. The disciples marvelled.

O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you, how long shall I suffer you? Bring him unto me. . How long is it ago since this came unto him?. If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. .

Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.. Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard-seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by you.

Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for No man eat fruit of thee hereafter.. Have faith in God.. Verily, I say unto you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig-tree, but also, if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.. Whosoever shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore, I say unto

you, What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any that your Father also, which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive you your trespasses.

Can the children of the bride-chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is them? . As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.. But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. No man putteth a piece of new cloth into an old garment for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.. And the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles : else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.. Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.. O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Perceive ye not yet, neither understand? Have ye your heart yet hardened? Having eyes, see ye not? And having ears, hear ye not?. Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, but that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

The Pharisees asked, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders?

Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of

God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups and many other such like things ye do.. Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by [gift to God] whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

he shall be free. And ye suffer him no more to do aught for his father or his mother; making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered and many such like things do ye..

The Pharisees asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife?

Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.. What did Moses command you?. Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, suffered you to put away your wives; but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery : and whoso marrieth her which is put away
