MR. WHIPPLE gives his personal and unremitting attention at the Rooms, and will spare no pains to satisfy his customers, and no expense in receiving every improvement in apparatus or methods of operating.

The generous patronage he has received for years has so diffused specimens of his work over the country that it is unnecessary to advertise the numerous recommendations his establishment has received. It has made itself known far and wide; and its past performances are, it is believed, a sufficient guaranty of its present ability.

To meet the fashion of the times, particular attention is now paid to

OARD PHOTOGRAPHS.

MR. WHIPPLE is prepared to take fac-similes of buildings and estates, in town or country, machinery, patterns, engravings, in fact, of any objects of which there is a desire to multiply copies.

He would call special attention to his success in PHOTOGRAPHING GROUPS.

TWO BOOKS FOR THE TIMES.

MESSRS. TICKNOR AND FIELDS

HAVE NOW READY,

MEDITATIONS ON DEATH AND ETERNITY.

Translated from the German of ZSCHOKKE, by FREDERICA ROWAN. 1 vol. 16mo. Price, $1.25. The circumstances under which this volume has been produced are very peculiar and interesting. It was a favorite book with Prince Albert, and he was constantly in the habit of having the "Meditations" read to him. After his death the Queen found much comfort in their perusal, and employed Miss Rowan to translate them, for private circulation among her own immediate family. The volume is now reprinted in America, where so many afflicted hearts are in deep and overwhelming sorrow, and need consolation.

MISS DORA GREENWELL, the author of this new volume, has achieved a reputation, in England and America, as one of the most thoughtful and suggestive writers of our day. Her works are conceived in the spirit of a meditative philosophy, and illuminated by the light of true Christian feeling. The numerous editions of her works testify to the excellence of her productions.
