DEAR SIR,-This prayer was compiled with a view to meet the feelings, and express the desires of some of the spiritual members of the flock who esteemed their beloved Pastor very highly in love for his works sake; and believing it may be acceptable to many who are similarly situated, and feel it to be a privilege by

intercessory prayer to hold up the hands of those who are appointed of God to be the instruments of communicating life and nourishment to their souls, and would gladly take with them words endited by the Spirit of God, when pleading for his chosen Ambassadors, I submit this scriptural prayer for insertion in the Light from the West,' should it meet with your approval, and remain, dear Sir,

LET thy Priests, O Lord, be clothed with righteousness! May the Spirit of the Lord rest upon them,the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord! Pour upon them continually the anointing oil, sanctify and consecrate them for the service of the sanctuary, that they may be holy unto their God. Cause thy blessing to come down upon the head of those that are separated from their brethren; let them sit down at thy feet, and receive of thy words, and keep thy covenant. Hear, Lord, their voice, and let their hands be sufficient for them, and be thou an help to them from their enemies.
