167 My soul keepeth thy testimonies, and loveth them exceedingly.
168 I observe thy precepts and testimonics, for all my ways are before thee.
Ler my cry, o JEHOVAH! approach thy presence; instruct me with thy word.
ito Let iny supplication come before thee; deliver me, according to thy word.
171 My lips shall utter thy praise, for thou teachest me thy statutes.
172 My tongue shall sing of thy word, for all thy commandments are righteous.
173 Let thine hand help me, for I choose thy precepts. 174
I long for thy salvation, O JEHOvan! and thy law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live, that it may praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.
176 I go astray like a sheep that is lost; o seek thy servant! for 1 do not forget thy commandments.
In my distress, I called upon JEHOVAH, and he answered me :
2 JEHOVAH delivered me from the lying lip, and from the deceitful tongue.
3. What shall be thy recompence, thou lying lip? and what thy reward, thou deceitful tongue ?
4 Even the sharp arrows of the warrior, with the fierce-burning coals of juniper.
5 Woe was me, when I was forced to sojourn at Mesech, and to dwell in the tents of Kedar.
6 I dwelt a long time there, with those who hated
peace : 7 Even when I spoke of peace, they were for war.
PSALM CXXI. I LIFT up mine eyes above the mountains, unto the place from whence cometh mine help.
2 Mine help is from JEHOVAH, who made the heavens and the earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; neither will he slumber who guardeth thee.
4 Lo! he, who guardeth Israel, will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 JEHOVAH is thy guard ; JEHOVAH is thy defence on thy right-hand :
6 So that the sun shall not injure thee by day, neither the moon by night.
7 JEHOVAH shall protect thee from all evil; he shall preserve thy life:
8 JEHOVAH shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forward, even for ever.
I was delighted with those who said unto me; -“ Let us go together to the house of JEHOVAH :
2“ Our fect shall stand within thy gates, o Jerusalein!
3“ Jerusalem is built as a federal city, which is closely united : 4
“ Unto which the tribes go up together, even the tribes of JEHOVAH, according to his command to Israel, to celebrate the name of JEHOVAH.
5.“ For there are the tribunals of judgment, the tribunals of the house of David.”
6 Pray ye for the peace of Jerusalem : may they prosper who love thee!
7 May peace be within thy walls, and security within thy ramparts !
8 For the sake of my brethren and my neighbours, I say now, “Peace be unto thee!”
9 For the sake of the house of JEHOVAH, our God, I wish prosperity unto thee!
UNTo thee do I lift up mine eyes, o thou who dwellest in the heavens!
2 Behold, as the eyes of men-servants look unto the hands of their masters, and as the eyes of a maid-servant unto the hands of her mistress ; so do our eyes look unto JEHOVAH, our GOD, until he shall have mercy upon us.
3 Have mercy upon us, O JEHOVAH ! have mercy upon us; for we have been treated, beyond example, with contempt.
4 Our soul hath been filled above measure with the derision of the insolent, and with the contempt of the proud.
IF JEHOVAH had not been on our side, may Israel now say;
2 If JEHOVAH had not been on our side when men rose up against us :
3 Surely they had swallowed us up alive, in the heat of their wrath against us.
4 Surely the waters had overwhelmed us, and the stream had passed over us: the swelling waters had passed over us.
5 But praised be JEHOVAH, who did not give us up a prey unto their teeth.
6 We are escaped like a bird out of the spare of the fowler ; the snare is broken, and we are delivered.
7 Our help is in the name of JEHOVAH, who made the heavens and the earth,
THOSE who place their trust in JEHOVAH are like mount Zion, which cannot be reinoved, but continueth fixed for ever. 2 As the mountains encompass Jerusa
