In the Morning prayer, p. 45.
How shall a young man purify his way? even by ruling himself according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart do I seek thee; suffer me not to go astray froin thy commandments.
11 I treasure up thy word in mine heart, that I may not sin against thee.
12 Praised art thou, O JEHOVAH ! 0 teach me thy statutes !
13 With my lips I recount all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I take more delight in the path of thy testimonies, than in all my riches.
15 I meditate on thine ordinances, and have regard unto thy ways.
16 I take delight in thy statutes; and will not forget thy words.
Be gracious unto thy servant, that I may live, and observe thy word.
18 Unveil thou mine eyes, that I may see the wonderful things of thy law.
19 I am a sojourner upon earth, hide not thy commandments from me.
20 My life is worn with continually pining for thy laws.
21 Thou rebukest the proud ; those who go astray from thy commandments are cursed.
22 Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I keep thy testimonies.
23 Even princes may sit, and speak against me; nevertheless, thy servant will meditate on thy statutes :
24 Thy testimonies also are my delight, and thy statutes my counsellors.
4 My life cleaveth to the dust; revive me, according to thy word.
26 When I declare unto thee my ways, thou hearest me; o teach me thy statutes ! 27 Instruct me in the way of thine or
dinances, dinances, and I will meditate on thy wonderful works.
28 My spirit wasteth away with affliction ; raise thou me up according to thy
29 Remove from me the way of falsehood; and teach me thy law.
30 I choose the way of truth, and set thy laws before me.
31 I adhere to thy testimonies; O JEHOVAH ! let me not be ashamed.
32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt have enlarged mine heart.
TEACH me the way of thy statutes, O JEHOVAH! and I will keep it as long as I live.
34 Instruct me how I may keep thy law; and I will observe it with my whole heart.
35 Conduct me in the path of thy commandments, for I take delight therein.
36 Incline mine heart unto thy testimonies, and not unto covetousness.
37 Turn away mine eyes from behold. ing vanity; and let me live in thy way.
38 Establish thy word with thy servant; that I may fear thee.
39 Turn away from me the reproach which I dread; for thy laws are good.
40 Lo! my delight is in thy precepts; o! let me live in thy righteousness.
LET thy mercy come upon me, O JEHOVAH ! even thy salvation, according to thy word.
42 Then may I answer him who reproacheth me, that I confide in thy word.
43 Take not away the word of thy truth from my mouth, for I depend upon thy judgments :
44 Then I will diligently observe thy law continually, even for ever.
45 When I shall walk at large, because I seek thy precepts:
46 Then I will speak of thy testimonies before kings, and will not be ashamed:
47 Because I delight myself in thy commandments, which I love:
48 And lift up mine hands unto thy precepts; and meditate on thy statutes.
7 REMEMBER thy word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to place
50 This is my comfort in mine afflic. tion, that thy word reviveth me.
51 The proud hold me exceedingly in derision ; yet I swerve not from thy law.
52 I call to mind thy judgments of former times, O JEHOVAH! and I derive comfort.
53 Horror seizeth me, on account of the wicked who forsake thy law.
54 Thy statutes are the subject of my songs, in the house where I sojourn.
55 I call to mind thy name, O JEHOVAH! in the night; that I may keep thy law.
56 This is my comfort, that I keep thy precepts.
8 THOU, O JEHOVAH! art my portion ; I promise, I will keep thy law. 58 I entreat thy favour with my
whole heart; ó be merciful unto me according to thy word.
