I REJOICE, because JEHOVAH hath heard the voice of my prayer.
2 I will call upon him as long as I live, because he hath inclined his ear unto me.
3 The snares of death surrounded me, and the toils of the grave surprised me:
4 When I found trouble and heaviness, I called upon the name of JEHOVAH; saying, "O JEHOVAH! I beseech thee, deliver
5 JEHOVAH is gracious and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6 JEHOVAH preserveth the simple; I was brought very low, and he saved me.
7 Return then unto thy rest, o my soul ! since JEHOVAH hath been gracious unto thee.
8 For my life is delivered from death, mine eyes from tears, and my fect from falling ; that I may walk before thee in the land of the living.
9 I believed that I was lost; I was indeed greatly afflicted : I said in my flight, os all men are deceitful.”
2 A 4
10 What return shall I make unto JEHOVAH for all his kindness to me?
11 I will receive the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of JEHOVAH.
12 I will pay my vows unto JEHOVAH, before all his people now present.
13 The death of his servants is precious in the sight of JEHOVAH.
14 Because, O JEHOVAH! I am thy servant, and the son of thine hand-maid, thou hast set me at large from my bonds.
15 I will offer unto thee the sacrifice of praise ; and call upon the name of JEHO
16 I will pay my vows unto JEHOVAH, before the eyes of all his people now present :
17 In the courts of the house of JEHOVAH; in the midst of thee, o Jerusalem !
PRAISE JEHOVAH, o all ye nations ! celebrate him, o all ye peoples !
2 For his mercy is great towards us; and the truth of JEHOVAH endureth for ever.
O GIVE thanks unto JEHOVAH, for he is good, and his inercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the house of Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
4 Let those who fear JEHOVAH now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
5 When I was in distress, I called upon JEHOVAH : JEHOVAH answered me by setting me at large.
6 JEHOVAH is among those who help me; I will not fear what man can do unto me;
7 JEHOVAH is among those who help me; I shall therefore, be able to face mine enemies.
8 It is better to trust in JEHOVAH, than to place any confidence in man :
9 It is better to trust in JEHOVAH, than to place any confidence in princes.
10 All the nations surrounded me; but in the name of JEHOVAH did I destroy them.
11 They surrounded me; yea, they surrounded me entirely ; but in the name of Jehovah did I destroy them.
12 They 12 They surrounded me like bees ; but were soon extinct, like a blaze of thorns: for in the name of JEHOVAH did I destroy them.
13 They pushed at me with vehemence, that I might fall; but JEHOVAH helped me.
14 JEHOVAH is my strength, and the subject of my song; and is become my salvation.
15 The voice of joy and triumph is in the dwellings of the righteous, proclaiming; “ the right-hand of JEHOVAH hath done mighty things;
16 “ The right-band of JEHOVAH is exalted; the right-hand of JEHOVAH hath done mighty things."
17 I shall not die, but live; and recount the works of JEHOVAH.
* 18 JEHOVAH did greatly chastise me; but did not deliver me up unto death.
19 Open for me the gates of righteousness ; that I may enter into them, and give thanks unto JEHOVAH. 20 This is the gate of JEHOVAH ;
let therigh teous enter into it.
21 I will give thanks unto thee, for thou didst hear me ; and art become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected, is become the chief corner-stone:
23 This is Jehovah's doing; and it is wonderful in our eyes:
24. This hath JEHOVAH done to-day ; we rejoice and are glad through him.
25 Save us now, I beseech thee, o JEHOVAH! I beseech thee, o JEHOVAH! give
US NOW success.
26 Happy be he, who cometh in the name of JEHOVAH. We pronounce a blessing upon you from the house of jeHOVAH.
27 Jehovah is God, and he constantly enlighteneth us: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
28 Thou art my God, and I will thank thee; thou art iny God, and I will exalt thee.
29 O give thanks unto JEHOVAH! for he is good, and his mercy endureth for ever,
