27 10 Who intend mischief; and whose right-hand is full of bribes.
11 But, as I walk in mine innocence ; deliver me, and have mercy on me.
12 When my foot shall stand on even ground; I will praise JEHOVAH in the assemblies.
JEHOVAH is my light, and my salvation ; whom then shall I fear? JEHOVAH is the safe-guard of my life; whom then shall I dread ? 2 When the wicked, those who
persecuted me and were mine enemics, advanced to devour my flesh; they themselves stumbled and fell back.
3 Should an host of men encamp about me, yet would not mine heart be afraid; and should war be waged against me, even then would I place my trust in him.
4 One thing I desire of JEHOVAH, and this I earnestly request ; that I may dwell in the house of JEHOVAH, all the days of my life, to contemplate the gracious countenance of JEHOVAH, and to search for an abidance in his sanctuary :
5 For, in the time of distress, he may hide me in his pavilion ; even in his interior tabernacle he may hide me, and exait me upon an inaccessible rock.
6 Even now, he may raise mine head above all my surrounding enemies : therefore, I will offer, in his tabernacle, sacrifices of praise; I will sing and chant praises unto JEHOVAH.
7 Hearken unto my voice, O JEHOVAH! when I call; be gracious unto me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst,“ Seck my face ;" mine heart replied, -Thy countenance, O JEHOVAH! will I seek.
9 Hide not thy countenance from me; neither turn thy servant from thee in thy displeasure.
1o Thou art my refuge, abandon me not; neither forsake me, O GOD of my salvation !
11 Though my father and my mother should forsake me; nevertheless, let JEHOVAH take me up.
12 Teach me thy way, O JEHOVAH ! and guide me in the right path, because of mine enemies.
13 Deliver me not over to the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses, and those who threaten violence, are risen against me.
14 I already should have fainted, had I not trusted to see the favour of JEHOVAH in the land of the living.
15 Oh! wait, therefore, for the help of JEHOVAH : be firm and courageous; and place thy trust in JEHOVAH.
UNTO thee, O JEHOVAH! my rock! do I call; answer thou me : lest, if thou be silent, I become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear my supplications, when I cry unto thee; when I raise mine hands toward thy sanctuary.
3 Oh! remove me not, neither destroy me with idolaters; with those who speak friendly with their neighbours, while inischief is in their hearts.
4 Repay such according to their works; and according to their evil dispositions: 5 Repay them according to the works of their hands; recompense them according to their deserts.
6 Because they regard not the works of JEHOVAH, neither the operation of his hands; therefore, he will overthrow them, and never re-establish them.
7 Praised be JEHOVAH; who heareth my supplications.
8 JEHOVAH is my strength and my shield; my heart trusteth in him: when I am helped by him, my heart rejoiceth, and I sing his praise.
9 JEHOVAH is the strength of his people; and the safe-guard of his anointed.
10 Oh! save thy people, and bless thine inheritance; feed them, and exalt them for ever.
PSALM XXIX. ASCRIBE unto JEHOVAH, ye great ones ; ascribe unto JEHOVAH glory and power :
2 Ascribe unto JEHOVAH the honour due unto his name ; and worship him with holy reverence. .. 3 The voice of JEHOVAH, the God of glory, is upon the waters; JEHOVAH thundereth over the great waters.
4 The voice of JEHOVAH is full of power; the voice of JEHOVAH is full of majesty :
5 The voice of JEHOVAH shivereth the cedars; JEHOVAH shivereth the cedars of Lebanon :
6 He maketh Lebanon to skip like a calf; and Sirion like a young rhinoceros.
7 The voice of JEHOVAH scattereth lightnings ; the voice of JEHOVAH shaketh the wilderness : JEHOVAH shaketh even the wilderness of Kadesh.
8 The voice of JEHOVAH shaketh the vaks, and strippeth the trees of the forest : while, in his sanctuary, every thing speaketh
9 JEHOVAH presideth over the storm; JEHOVAH will remain king for ever.
10 JEHOVAH will give power to his people; JEHOVAH will bless his people with pcace. .
I WILL extol thee, o JEHOVAH! because thou hast exalted me; and hast not suffered mine enemies to rejoice over me.
