freed from her. If I am guilty because I married and divorced several wives, many Americans are equally guilty.

The spirit of contempt and the ridiculous attitude of Mr. Richardson, in his gossiping articles, Dr. Jessup, and Dr. Wilson, which they displayed against the East and Eastern people, cannot but make well informed people feel indignant. We all know and admit that the West for several hundred years has been more civilized, possessing more knowledge in science, mechanics, and art, and is a great deal richer than the East. But we must not forget that the East was very highly civilized for thousands of years before any civilization had reached the West. The East provided the West with every science we have, the science of writing, engraving, alphabet, navigation, astronomy, division of times, laws, history, mathematics, algebra, chemistry, medicine, architecture, geology, etc., etc. Also the East provided the West with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible wherein it is said: "The way of God is the East." And now the East has perfected its gifts to the West by providing it with the appearance of God the Father, Beha 'U'llah.

In regard to the remarks of Dr. Wilson in the first chapter of his work I would like to state: Beha 'U'llah never built a palace called Bahja, as mentioned on page 23. The number of followers of Beha in his day, was greater than that of Christ in his time, but this is not a proof that the Behai religion or Christianity is a true or not a true religion. To talk or write about this is a waste of time. Concerning the family or wives of Beha 'U'llah, that will be explained satisfactorily to everybody in the following pages.

Also regarding the statement of Dr. Wilson that many false manifestations appeared in Persia and the near East I would like to answer:

This is the fulfillment of the sign which Christ gave concerning the coming of the Kingdom. But why Dr. Wilson is resisting it I cannot tell. Indeed, it is a convincing proof that the Kingdom of God hath come. In 1896, Mr. William James informed me that there were eleven persons in Chicago, and each of them claimed to be the second coming of Christ. I said, that which Christ foretold came to pass, and the Kingdom is to God the Father.

It is self-evident that Dr. Wilson, Dr. Jessup, and the like are not fitted nor competent to be the judges of the Behai religion. The least I can say is, that they did not take up the Behai religion as to its spiritual teachings, high basic principles, wonderful precepts and admonitions which excel all other religions, but attacked personalities and produced false accusations which are detested by people of common sense. For this reason I would like to offer to the Christians of this country the following proposition:

Let us hold a conference composed of five learned Christians to be judges between three learned Christian theologians and three Behais, who will present their proofs and evidences of the truth of the Behai teachings and its claims. For instance, that the signs of the coming of the Kingdom were all fulfilled; that the Everlasting Father appeared at the appointed time and established His Kingdom on earth. That all prophecies of the coming of the Deity to visit mankind with goodness were fulfilled in Beha 'U'llah; that He substituted His Word (Utterances) which

suffices the world, in the place of His Supreme Self and departed in 1892 to the Spiritual Realms.

If the above proposed conference can not be brought about, I cordially invite you to read this book; and if more proofs are needed, please read my work of 550 pages entitled "Beha "U'llah."

CHAPTER II.

O CHRISTIANS! WHY DO YOU BELIEVE NOT ON CHRIST?

A Christian is one who believes in what Christ foretold and taught, otherwise his claim is not vindicated. It is a fact that nearly two thousand years ago, Christ foretold and promised the coming of the Father to establish His Kingdom on earth. Also he proclaimed that his special mission was, to preach the glad tidings of the coming of the Kingdom of God. Luke 4:43: "I must preach the good tidings of the Kingdom of God to other cities also, for therefore am I sent." Jesus taught you to pray, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Also he and the prophets appointed the time of the coming of the Father to be after 1260 years from the appearance of Mohammedanism. See Revelation 12th Chapter and also Daniel 12th Chapter. At the appointed time the Father came and manifested Himself, but you missed meeting Him, because you were occupied in and devoted to vain and worldly enjoyments.

Christ said, the Father shall come like unto a thief at night, and warned you not to be asleep. You did not heed his warning, and the Father came and lived many years among His creatures, while
