there is no need of inserting them in this brief autobiography.

Since 1900, many communications have taken place between me and his Excellency, Mohammed Ali Effendi; El-Akbar, and her Grace the Widow of Beha 'U'llah, Mahd-Ulia, and Khadin 'U'llah, Mirza Agha Jan, and Mohammed Huseyn Schirazi and several others of the Holy Household, concerning the teachings of Beha 'U'llah, which refute the claims and actions of Abbas Effendi, the Greatest Branch. This was plainly stated in my two works, "Facts for Behaists," and the "Three Questions," published between 1901 and 1902.

Mohammed Ali Effendi, the Mightiest Branch, supplied me with hundreds of Sacred Tablets revealed by Beha 'U'llah and many precious manuscripts written in the handwriting of Beha's scribes. Also he gave me valuable information in regard to the revelations and granted me priceless gifts such as a Sacred Tablet written in the Sacred handwriting of the Father himself, and two tufts of his hair besides several Sacred relics; and bestowed on me the title of "Doctor" in correspondence.

I continued to teach and hold meetings with those who joined me in different places in Chicago. In 1904 I married Miss Augusta Linderborg and went to the Exhibition at St. Louis, and thence to New York City. In 1906, we returned to Chicago and I began to teach as usual and also taught two classes in the suburbs of Chicago, one in Evanston and the other in Wilmette. My wife passed away (1912) a faithful and staunch believer in Beha 'U'llah, and her last

words on her death-bed were the Greatest Name of God, Allah-u-Abha.

The Organization of the N. A. U. R.

In 1914, I returned to Chicago from the Black Hills, Rapid City, South Dakota, where I spent about eighteen months with my son, Dr. George I. Kheiralla. Here in Chicago I held some meetings with believers in Beha and decided to form an Association under the laws of the State of Illinois, known as the "National Association of the Universal Religion." We received the charter the same year and the chosen officers of the National Association were, myself as President and Chief-Instructor, Frederick O. Pease, M. D., Vice President, Harry R. Reynolds, Secretary and Treasurer.

The National Association of the Universal Religion and all its branches work under the headship of his Grace, El-Akbar, Mohammed Ali Effendi, 202, whom I represent in the United States of America. He was chosen by Beha 'U'llah in the "Book of My Covenant," as the Trustee and Diffuser of its teachings, principles and laws throughout the world after Abbas Effendi. The directors of this Association are authorized to confer the title of "Doctor" in the teachings of the Universal Religion to those who deserve, and no Behai teacher in this country is considered authority nor competent unless he is a member of the National Association of the Universal Religion.

The main object for which this Association was formed is, to promulgate the amalgamation of all different religions into one Universal Religion, that dif

ferences in faith and race may be annulled in order to establish peace and unity with God and with each other. The following requisitions inserted in the "Guide" are enjoined on members of this Association:

Requisitions.

1. It is required of every member of this corporation to believe in the oneness and singleness of God, the Supreme. For He is Infinite Perfection and nothing can be taken from nor added to Him; hence, He is Most High and sanctified from being divided into persons, parts and sparks.

2. Our God is a living God, known and knowable. For it is an established fact that everything in existence is known by its qualities, powers, attributes and manifestations, and especially through His greatest manifestation and Face entitled the Everlasting Father. The nothing is the only unknown, because it has no qualities, no powers, no attributes, neither manifestations; hence, the nothing does not exist and it is the unknown God or rather the God of ignorance. Besides this, God wished to be known and created us to know Him. Should He be unknowable, there would be no object of our creation, and such an aimless action cannot be attributed to the AllWise.

3. Members of this corporation must not allow any party or parties to stand between them and God. For He is the Ocean of Light and Itelligence and we are like unto fishes therein. We live in Him, exist in Him, move in Him, breathe in Him and are sus

tained by Him. So, He is nearer to us than we are to ourselves. Therefore, we must be on our guard and never allow any one to stand as a barrier between us and Him.

4. The duty of each one of us is to rise up by the help of God and urge the others to rise up likewise and assist in uprooting from the hearts of the peoples of this world the hatred and rancor wrought therein by differences of faith and race. This hatred and rancor are like unto consuming fire devouring mankind and destroying the organization of the human family and the preservation of our race. The past and present horrid wars are sufficient evidences of what hatred has done in the way of ruination and destruction to the people of the earth.

5. We shall live for the world that the world may live for us and teach others to do the same. We are all brothers and sisters, one family, one kindred, one race and the offspring of the same parents, as taught by the Scriptures of nearly every religion. Besides this, nature and its laws teach us that we are one race, one family, as it was conclusively proved in bringing children by marriage of all kinds of peoples of different countries and climates. So each one is a member of the same family and must live for the family that the family may live for him.

6. One of the chief works of this corporation is to labor and help in formulating an easy and short language for mankind all over the world. It should be taught to children in schools everywhere, in order that in the near future, each human being can talk the same language with all the others. This would be the cause of unity and accord among all nations and

strengthen the ties of brotherhood thereof. For it would destroy from our minds the conception of being aliens to each other as we feel when we cannot converse in the same language with people of other countries.

7. Spirituality is to know the Spirit of Truth, the Head-Fountain of Revelations, who spoke in Jesus and in all the prophets of yore. He is the Everlasting Father, the Face of the Infinite and His self Representative in the world of command and creation. He is the Manifestation of the Eternal Identity and the only true God, and to know Him is life eternal. as Christ said in His prayers for his disciples. He is standing behind the doors of the hearts of His seekers ready to enter therein and make them die for what they have and live for what He has for them, that they may become heirs of His Kingdom. This lofty station cannot be attained unless we obey His commandments, for both achievements are inseparable and the one cannot be accepted without the other.

8. Morality: Inasmuch as mankind is the vineyard which the Everlasting Father planted, and inasmuch as He organized it as a family of two sexes, male and female; he wished to guard and protect it; He laid laws and established commandments whereby the human family can live in unity, peace and prosperity, if they obey them and walk accordingly. So you see that every action which is performed for the protection of the organization of the human family and the preservation of mankind, is good, and that which is a violation of its protection and preservation is evil, i. e., it is an immoral deed. For instance, to kill
