The Metropolis of the Empire includes within its gigantic bounds, 2 Cities, London, and Westminster,-- Borough, Southwark, and nearly 50 Villages, which, now united, stretch over a site 7 miles long, and 2 wide. The ecclesiastical, municipal, and parochial divisions, are therefore irregular and involved, and it is no easy task accurately to define its boundaries.

ASSOCIATIONS, &c.--The accredited ministers of the Presbyterian, Congregational or Independent, and Baptist denominations in the Metropolis, constitute distinct Boards for conducting their separate business, and meet at Dr. Williams's Library, Red Cross Street, as The Body of Dissenting Ministers of London and Westminster, for deliberation, and are permitted under that name to address the King on the throne.

The Congregational Board sits Monthly, at the Bank Coffee House. --Rev. T. Harper, Walworth, Secretary, and as there are ministers, members of it who do not hold a pastoral charge, we insert a complete list of them, though the names of most will recur again in this List of Metropolitan Churches, in which they are distinguished by the letter B. The London Congregational Union meet monthly for Prayer and Sermon, on the Thursday after the first Sabbath.
