DISTRESS WARRANT FOR ASSESSMENTS DUE.

The Corporation of the (Parish, Township, &c., as the case may be,) to wit:

To all or any of the Constables and Peace Officers in the District of

WHEREAS A. B., (name and designation of debtor,) hath been required by the Secretary-Treasurer of the Municipal Council of the (name of Municipality,) to pay into his hands for and on behalf of the said Municipal Council, the sum of being the amount due by him to the said Municipality, as appears by the collection-roll of the said Municipality for the year 18 ; And whereas the said A. B., hath neglected and refused to pay unto the said Secretary-Treasurer, within the period prescribed by law, the said sum of ; these are therefor to command you forthwith to make distress of the goods and chattels of the said A. B.; and if within the space of eight days after the making of such distress, the said mentioned sum, together with the reasonable charges of taking and keeping the said distress, shall not be paid, that then you do on such day as shall be indicated to you by the said Secretary-Treasurer, sell the said goods and chattels so by you detained, and do pay the money arising from such sale unto the Secretary-Treasurer of the said Municipal Council, that he may apply the same as by law directed, and may render the overplus, if any, on demand, to the said A. B., or others whom it may concern, and if no such distress can be found, then that you certify the same unto me, to the end that such proceedings may be had therein, as to Law doth appertain.
