Sir John Michel was nominated a CB. after the termination of the Kaffir war in 1853, in consideration of his stmzuished services in the Kaffir wars of 1846-47 and of 1851-53 (Medal). Was nominated to the 2nd Class the Medjidie for service with the late Turkish Contingent. Served in the Indian campaign in 1858-59 in comLast of the Mhow Field Force, and defeated the rebels under Tantia Topee at Beorora, taking 27 guns; subsecently actively engaged in pursuing the fugitive bands (KCB., and Medal). Commanded a Division of the Army the campaign of 1860 in China, including the action at Sinho (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts).

General Brown served throughout the Punjaub campaign, and was present with the 24th at the passage the Chenab and the battles of Sadoolapore and Chillianwallah (wounded), and as Major of the 29th Regt. at the sue of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).

Colonel Meurant served during the latter part of the Indian Mutiny with the 83rd Regiment, and was present at the surprise of and attack on the rebels under Tantia Topee at Seckur (Medal). Served in the Boer war of 1st in command of the 83rd Regiment.

Lt.Colonel Gore was present with the 83rd Regiment at the siege and capture of Kotah on 30th March 1858, air at Sanganeer, defeat of the Gwalior rebels at Kotaria, surprise of and attack on the rebels at Seckur Metal with Clasp).

Lt. Colonel Karslake was present with the 83rd Regiment at the siege of Kotah and its capture by assault, affair at Sanganeer, and defeat of the Gwalior rebels at Kotaria (Medal with Clasp).

Lt.Colonel Crofton served with the 9th Lancers in suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1858-59, and was present the affair of Kumdakoti (Medal).

Major Cutbill served throughout the New Zealand war of 1863-66, and was present with the Thames *xpedition and with that of the Waikato (Medal).

Sir Hastings Doyle served as Assistant Adjutant General of the 3rd Division of the Army in the Eastern ampaign in 1854, at Varna, until invalided. Colonel Stevenson served in the Egyptian war of 1882 in command of the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers, d was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (mentioned in despatches, CB., Medal with Clasp).

Lt.Colonel Todd served with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was resent at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and 4th Class of the Osmanieh).

Major Harvest served with the 89th Regiment in the Crimea from the 20th August 1855, including the siege and of Sebastopol, and attack of the 8th September (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

Captain Ferguson served in the Kafir war of 1851-53 (Medal), including the expedition north of the Orange Ever. Served also in the China war of 1860, including the actions of the 3rd 12th and 14th August 18th and September, and advance on Pekin (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts and Pekin).

*Major Cox served in the Egyptian war of 1882 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General, at the Base, Ismailia (Metal).

Lt.Colonel Taylor served with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was ent at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp).

Medal with Clasp, and 4th Class of the Medjidie). Captains Phibbs, Wildman, Gardner, and W. S. Terry, Licuts. A. F. Terry, Davison, Wilbraham, Walker, d, Hon. E. B. L. H. Stopford, Blood, Henry, Wolfe, Conran, Mulock, and Barnard, and Quarter Master served with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers in the Egyptian war of 1882, and were present at the battle Te-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp).

Captain Martin was employed on special service at the Cape during the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp). red with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present at the battle of -Kebir (Medal with Clasp).

*Leat. Cusack served as Adjutant with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers in the Egyptian war of 1882, was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and 5th Class of the Medjidie,. Has also the Silver wal of the Royal Humane Society for saving the life of a soldier in Guernsey Harbour.

1st Battalion embarked for Cape of Good Hope, 15 June 1877. 2nd Battalion embarked for Natal, 26 February 1879. 1 Sir J. T. Grant served with the 49th Regt. throughout the operations in China (Medal), commencing with the first taking of Chusan, and terminating with the demonstration before Nankin, including the storm and capture of the heights above Canton, attack and capture of Amoy, second capture of Chusan, attack and capture of the heights of Chinhae, occupation of Ningpo, and repulse of the night attack, attack and capture of the enemy's en trenched camp on the heights of Segoan, attack and capture of Chapoo, Woosung, and Chin Kiang Foo (wounded). Served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 (in command of the 49th from the battle of Inkerman), including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, sortie on 26th Oct., and assaults of the Redan on the 18th June and 8th Sept. ; commanded the working party, 600 strong, from the Light and 2nd Divisions that had to turn the enemy's work after the Quarries were carried, and was engaged during the night in working and repelling the three attempts made by the Russians to retake the position (Medal with three Clasps, CB., Officer of the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).

2 Colonel Hopton served with the 88th Regiment in the Crimen from 17th June 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attacks of the Redan on the 18th June and 8th September-severely wounded (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also in suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-58, including the siege of Lucknow in March 1858, and siege of Calpee (Medal with Clasp for Central India). Served with the 88th Regiment throughout the Kafir war of 1877 78 (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel), and throughout the Zulu war of 1879, during the first portion of the latter as Director of Transport (Medal with Clasp).

3 Lt.Colonel Browne served with the 94th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engagement at Ulundi and in the subsequent operations against Sekukuni, including the storming of the stronghold (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war in 1881, part of the time as Commandant at Newcastle.

Lt.Colonel Montague served in the Zulu war of 1879 as Brigade Major 2nd Brigade 2nd Division (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war of 1880-81 in command of Standerton, and with 350 regular troops and 75 volanteers maintained his position during its investment of 88 days-sligh ly wounded (several times mentioned in despatches, CB.).

Lt.Colonel Dalrymple served in the Ashanti War in 1874, as Special Commissioner to the Wassaws and Denkeras, on the left flank of the Main line of Advance, and subsequently on the Transport Service (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). Served in the latter part of the Kafir war of 1878. Also served in the Zulu war of 1879. first as Staff Officer to Colonel Glyn's Column, and afterwards as Brigade Major to the 1st Brigade, 2nd Division; was present in the engagement at Ulundi (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp).

Major Campbell served with the 94th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engagement at Ulundi (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war of 1880-81 as Provost Marshal at Pretoria during its

investment.

8 Lt.Colonel Penton, Majors Brind and Jeffreys, Captain Gardner, Lieuts. Barton, Haldane, and Rickards served with the 88th Regiment throughout the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

Sir G. Larpent, Lieuts Moore, Webb, Wyncoll, and Elton served with the 88th Regiment throughout the Kafir war of 1877-78, and the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

10 Major Acklom served with the 88th Regiment throughout the Kafir war of 1877 78, including the affair at Draaibosch (Medal with Clasp).

14 Lt.Colonel E. S. 23 Captain O'Grady served with the 94th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engagement at Ulundi, and in the subsequent operations against Sekukuni including the storming of the stronghold-severely wounded (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war of 1880-81 in command of the troop of Mounted Infantry 94th Regiment at Pretoria during its investment.

24 Lieut. Hammond served with the 88th Regiment throughout the Kafir war of 1877 78, and as Adjutant of the Regiment throughout the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal with Clasp).

26 Captain Carroll served with the 94th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879 (Medal). Served in the Boer war in 1881, and was present in the engagement at Lang's Nek.
