C. W. Fletcher served throughout the defence of the Residency of Lucknow from the 30th June until its final relief by Lord Clyde on the 17th Nov. 1857, and was severely wounded-shot through the left arm, resulting in the loss of the use of the left hand-whilst on duty as Look-out Officer on the top of the Residency on the 18th August (Medal with Clasp, wound pension for life, and a year's service)

Colonel A. J. FitzGerald served with the 1st Battalion 6oth Rifles during the second siege operations at Mooltan, including the siege and storm of the town and capture of the citadel; was afterwards present at the battle of Goojerat, the pursuit of the Sikh Army, and the expulsion of the Affghans beyond the Khyber Pass (Medal with two Clasps). Also present during the operations in the Eusofzaie Country, and capture of the insurgent villages on the 11th and 14th Dec. 1849 (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel F. B. Foote was engaged in various expeditions against the mountain tribes near Peshawur in 1851-52 Was engaged from Dec. 1857 throughout the suppression of the under Sir Colin Campbell (Medal with Clasp). mutiny in India, and present with the Goorkha Force under Brigadier General Macgrigor at the affairs of Gorruckpore, Shahgunge, and Khandhoonuddee-received the thanks of the Governor General in Council. Also present at the siege and capture of Lucknow (Medal with Clasp).

15 Colonel David Forbes served with the 91st Regiment in the last Kaffir war (Medal).

106 Colonel Hon. E. J. W. Forester served throughout the campaigns in Affghanistan from 1838 to 1842 inclusive, including the storm and capture of Ghuznee (Medal), storming the Khoord Cabool Pass, affair of Tezeen, forcing the Jagdulluck Pass, reduction of the fort of Mamoo Khail, defence of Jellalabad, and sorties on the 14th Nov. and 1st Dec. 1841, 11th March 24th March and 1st April 1842, general action and defeat of Akbar Khan before Jellalabad (Medal), storming the heights of Jugdulluck, general action of Tezeen, and recapture of Cabool (Medal). Served as an Aide de Camp to Sir Willoughby Cotton in 1838, 39, and 40, and at Ghuznee.

Colonel H. Francis served with the 64th Regiment in the Persian expedition in 1857 (Medal with Clasp), Served also throughout the Indian mutiny in 1857-58, including the defence of the Alumbagh, action of La Martiniere, second relief of Lucknow, defence of Cawnpore, and actions of Kalee Nuddee, Kerkeroulie, Bareilly, Shahjebanpore, Mahomdee, and Bunnai (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, and a year's service for Lucknow). 1 Colonel G. L. Fraser served in the Sutlej campaign in 1846; also in the Punjaub campaign in 1849, and was present at the battle of Goojerat (Medal with Clasp, and mentioned in despatches). Served in the expedition to Kohat under Sir Charles Napier, in Feb. 1850 (Medal with Clasp). Also served in the Indian mutiny campaign, and was present at the siege of Calpee (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp for Central India).

199 Colonel T. L. Fraser served as Staff Officer to the force under Lieutenant Colonel Evans throughout the operations in Nuggur Parkur against rebel Thakoors in 1859, and was severely wounded in their night attack on the camp in the town of Nuggur on 20th June 1859.

Colonel C. H. Fresson served as Adjutant with the Left Wing 98th Regiment in the Peshawur Expeditionary Force on the Euzofzie Frontier under Sir S. Cotton in April and May 1858, including the destruction of Chinglie, also engaged with the Hindostance fanatics on the Heights of Sittana on 4th May (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel J. W. Fry served in the 86th Regiment with the Central India Field Force under Sir Hugh Rose in 1857-58, and was present at the actions of Koonch, all the operations before Calpee from 15th to 22nd May, battle of Gulowlie, capture of the town and fortress of Calpee, battle of Morar, battle before and capture of the town and fortress of Gwalior, and taking of Pourie (Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major). Has received a Gold Medal of Honor from the President of the French Republic and the Silver Medal of the Royal Humane Society for saving a lady from drowning in the sea at Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Colonel W. H. Garton served throughout the Sonthal campaign of 1855-56. Served also throughout the mutiny 1857-58 (Medal). Was severely and dangerously wounded and had his horse killed under him in an attack upon a party of rebels under Sung Ram Sing in the Jaunpore district.

Colonel G. G. H. Fulton served with the fieldiforce engaged in operations against the rebels in the Myhee and Rewa Kantas in 1857, and received the thanks of the Commander in Chief.

Colonel A. Gahagan served with the field force under Major Hawks at Keonghaut for the suppression of a rebellion among the Hill Tribes of the Cuttack Tributary Mehals.

Colonel G. Gaynor served the campaign of 1845 against the Hill tribes in Scind under Sir Charles Napier. Also the Punjab campaign of 1848-49, including the action of Ramnuggur, and battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah, and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).

Colonel J. S. Gibb served at the siege and capture of Lucknow, affairs in Arrah district and Jugdespore (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).

as Colonel W. J. Gillum served with the 2nd Battalion Royals in the Crimea from the 22nd April 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and was severely wounded at the attack of the 8th September-leg amputated (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, Sardinian and Turkish Medals).

Colonel John Glancy served with the 14th Regiment in the Crimean campaign from 10th Jan. 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assault of the 18th June(Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also in the New Zealand war of 1863-65, and was mentioned in despatches for "conspicuous forwardness" in the attack on the enemy's rifle-pits during the action at Koewa, and again for "conspicuous conduct" during the engagement at Rangiriri (Brevet of Major, and Medal).

1 Colonel W. A. Glasspoole served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, and was present at the siege and surrender of Mooltan, including the storm and capture of the town (Medal with Clasp). Persian campaign of 1856-57, including the surrender of Bushire, and acted on Sir R. Honner's Staff during the forced march to Borazjoon, night attack on the rear-guard and battle of Khooshab (Medal with Clasp). Served against the rebel Bheels and Coolies in the Nassic and Ahmeduuggur districts in 1857-58, and received the commendatious of Government and the highapproval of the Commander in Chief for services while in command of a Detachment of the 4th Rifles. In 1858 he served with Sir John Michel's Force in pursuit of the rebels under Tantia Topee, and was present at the action of Rajghur (Medal).

Colonel C. V. Gordon was present with his regiment on field service from the commencement of disturbances in 1857 and 1858.

Colonel James Graham served in the Indian mutiny campaigns in 1857-58, including the siege and capture of Lucknow, affairs of Koorsee, Barree, and Simree, action of Nawabgunge, reoccupation of Fyzabad, and passage of the Gogra (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp).

Colonel J. H. Graham served as Staff Officer to the Force employed in the destruction of the Villages in the Boree Valley, North-Western Frontier of India, in November 1853 (Medal with Clasp).

is Colone. 0. M. Graham served throughout the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-59, including the occupation of the Alumbagh previous to and after the relief of Lucknow, also relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde; Rohilcund and Oude campaigns (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel M. D. V. T. Grant served as Adjutant to the Left Wing 33rd Foot with the Okamundel Field Force in 1859, and was present at the siege and occupation of Dwarka.

Colonel Andrew Green served with the Rifle Brigade in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the battle of Cawnpore on 6th December 1857, operations in the Doab, siege and capture of Lucknow, action of Nawabgunge, and commanded the Detachment of Riflemen with Sir R. Barker's Column at Jamo-dangerously wounded, fourteen sabre cuts and one gun-shot wound, left arm and right thumb amputated. Mentioned in Lord Clyde's despatch for marked gallantry, and thanked by the Governor General in Council (Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major).

Colonel G. Gregory was present at the bombardment of Odessa 22nd April 1854; served with the R. M. Battalion at the occupation of Eupatoria in 1854, and with the Brigade in the Crimea during the siege of Sebastopol in 1854-55 (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal)..

Colonel S. Hackett served with the 38th Regt. at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 27th Jan. 1855 (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

12 Colonel Hadfield served with the R.M. Brigade in the Crimen during the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and also at the surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

Anderson, Political Agent, in the successful attack on the Wagheer rebels on Tabur Hill on 29th December 1867 (mentioned in despatches, and thanked by the Governor in Council).

128 Colonel G. S. Hawthorn served with the 24th Bombay Native Infantry with the Central India Field Force under Sir Hugh Rose during the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-58, and was present at the siege and capture of Ratghur, capture of Garrakotta, relief of Saugor, feint on Malthone Pass, siege and capture of Jhansi, and with the field force against Tantia Topee and the Rao Saheb. Commanded a Field Detachment in the Central India Districts after the rebel Runjore Sing in August 1859, and completely routed a body of rebels under his command, and for which he received the commendation of the Governor General, the Commander in Chief in India, Sir Robert Napier then commanding the Central India Field Force, and Colonel Lockhart commanding at Jhansi (Medal with Clasp). 129 Colonel R. D. Hassard served in the campaign in the Southern Mahratta Country in 1844-45, and was present at the storm and capture of Punalla. Served with the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1856-57, including the assault and capture of Reshire, surrender of Bushire, expedition to Borazjoon, and action at Khooshab (Medal with Clasp). 129+ Colonel Drummond Hay served in the Persian war in 1857, including the night attack and battle of Kooshab, as Brigade Major (Brevet Major, Medal with Clasp), and bombardment of Mohumrah. 130 Colonel M. J. Hayman served with the 18th Royal Irish on the China expedition in 1842 (Medal). Accom panied the subsequent expedition under General D'Aguilar, which assaulted and took the Forts of the Bocca Tigra in the Canton River, those of the Staked Barrier, and of the city of Canton. Served also in the Burmese war of 1852-53, including the operations before Rangoon and capture of Prome (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). 1304 Colonel B. H. Heathcote served with the 48th Regiment in the Crimea from the 21st April 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

131 Colonel Henry Heberden served in the Crimean campaign from July to November 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

1 Colonel J. W. Huskisson served in the Indian Mutiny campaign with the Bombay Field Force operating North Canara and Goa against the Dessai rebels from February to June 1858 (Medal). Proceeded on special service to South Africa in November 1878, and served throughout the Zulu war of 1879 as Commandant and Assistant Quarter Master General at the base of operations, Durban (Brevet of Lt. Colonel, Medal).

137 Colonel D. Hutcheon served with the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1856-57, and was present at the assant and capture of Reshire, surrender of Bushire, with the expedition to Borazjoon, action at Khooshab, and bombardment and capture of Mohumra (Medal with Clasp).

133 Colonel E. C. Impey was present at the siege and capture of Kotah by the field force under Major Genera Roberts in 1858; after the siege he was attached as Political Officer with that force on the march from Kutab to Neemuch (Medal).

139 Colonel Impey-Lovibond served in the Indian mutiny campaign, at the relief of Arrah, and subsequently in Oude (Medal). Served as Commanding Engineer with the Sikkiin expedition of 1860 (mentioned in despatch). 11 Colonel H. Colonel E. G. Jenkins was present at the mutiny of the Bengal troops at Nusseerabad on the 28th May 1875 (charger severely wounded whilst charging the guns in possession of the mutineers); present at the first attack on and at the subsequent siege and capture of the fort of Awah; at the siege assault and capture of Kotab, and pursuit of the rebels into the Gwalior district; in the pursuit of the Gwalior rebels under Tantia Topee, and at the battle of the Bunass (Medal).

146 Colonel C. R. Johnson served with the 50th Regiment at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from June 16th 1855 (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also the several campaigns in New Zealand from 15th Nov. 18's to 1866; commanded a Company which formed part of the storming party at the assault and capture of Ragginela (mentioned in despatches, and Brevet of Major), present at the repulse of the enemy's attack on the Camp at Nukumaru, the affair at Kakaramea, and the taking of the Putahi Pah (mentioued in despatches, Medal),

16+ Colonel C. Johnston served in India in 1857-58, and was present at the battle of Cawnpore on 6th Dec. (Meal) 147 Colonel P. Johnston served in the New Zealand war of 145-46 (Medal) with the 99th Regiment, and commanded the Light Company at the storming of Kawiti's Pah at Ohacawas on the 1st July 1845 (where he was slightly wounded on the forehead), and destruction of the same on the 10th July; again at the destruction of Arratua's Pah on 16th July; also at the destruction and capture of Kawiti's Pah at Ruapekapeka in January 1846.

148 Colonel C. Jolliffe served with the R. M. Brigade in the Crimea in 1854. and in command of a Battery at Balaklava; was attached to the Royal Artillery in the siege train before Sebastopol during the bombardments in 1955.

159 Colonel C. N. Judge served with Havelock's Force in the actions on his advance to Lucknow; was present throughout Outram's occupation of the Alambagh; also throughout the siege and capture of Lucknow (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service).

15 Colonel S. A. T. Judge served in Burmah in 1852-53 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Present with the Agra Militia Cavalry at Agra on the 4th July 1857, when the Kotah Contingent mutinied and the guns of the Contingent and all the ammunition and baggage were retaken from them; also present at the action of the following day (Medal). 152 Colonel F. S. Kempt served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege of Mooltan, storm of the city, and surrender of the fortress (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel J. H. Kirke served with the 19th Regiment in the Crimea from the 5th January to the 26th July 1855, including the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel R. Lacy served with the 33rd Regiment throughout the Abyssinian campaign of 1867-68, and as local Colonel commanded the greater part of a Brigade during a portion of the advance on Magdala, and finally was present at the storming and capture of Magdala (Medal).

Colonel E. A. C. Lambert served in the Burmese war of 1852-53 and was present at the operations in the march from Martaban to Tongoo (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Served in the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-59, and was present throughout the siege, assault and capture of Delhi, including the battle of Budleekeserai and actions of the 12th 17th 19th 20th and 23rd June (struck down by a sunstroke), and action of Nujjuffghur; Oude campaign of 1-9 and affair at Sultanpore (Medal with Clasp).

15 Colonel W. H. J. Lance served with the 98th Foot in the campaign against the Hill Tribes on the Peshawur frontier in 1851-52. Served as a Captain in the Turkish Contingent during the Russian war in 1855-56 (Turkish Medai). Served also in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1858-59 (Medal). Served in the Bhootan campaign of 64-65 (Medal). 157 Colonel E. H. Langmore served with the force under General Wheeler in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49 and was present at the capture of the two Sikh Forts, Ramnuggur and Muraree (Medal). Formed one of the Garrison which defended the Residency of Lucknow from the 30th June to the 22nd Nov. 1857, and commanded an important outpost during that period, and was mentioned in Major General Inglis' despatch in the following terms:"Lieut. Langmore with the remnant of his corps (the 71st Native Infantry) held a very exposed position between the Hospital and the Water Gate. This gallant and deserving young soldier and his men were entirely without Selter from the weather both by night and day." He was afterwards present with Lord Clyde's force which drove the rebel Gwalior Contingent from Cawnpore (Medal with Clasp, a year's service, and Brevet of Major).

Colonel Laurie served with the Nigool Field Force from 15th Jan. to 7th Feb. 1848 and was present at the king of the stockade of Hurrithputterghur. Served in the second Burmese war from 31st March 1852, including the attack and capture of Rangoon, affairs of Kyonkyedurg and Gongho, and with a Field Force to Myoukkhala Medal with Clasp for Pegu.

Colonel Robert Law served with the 31st Regt. throughout the campaign of 1842 in Afghanistan under General Pollock (Medal), including the actions of Mazeena, Tezeen, and Jugdulluck, occupation of Cabool (contused) and the different minor engagements leading to and from it. Also served the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the battles of Moodkee, Ferozesh h. Buddiwal, Aliwal, and Sobraon, in all of which he commanded a Company (Medal and three Clasps). Was severely wounded at the battle of Sobraon-ball lodged in his body, and mentioned in Cespatch, being second in command of the Regiment during the action.

Colonel W. Leckie served with the 39th Regiment at the siege and fall of Sebastopol in 1855, and at the attacks on the 18th June and 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel E. Le Pelley served with the 75th Regt. during the Indian campaign of 1857-58, from the outbreak on 12th May, including the battle of Budleckeserai, siege storm and capture of Delhi, pursuit of the enemy and tons of Bolundshuhur, Allyghur, Acrabad, Agra, Kanoj, advance into Oude and affairs of Maragunge and Alumjagh, occupation after the relief of Lucknow of the fortified outposts and camp with Outram's Force, and repulse of e enemy's attacks (Medal with Clasps, and Brevet of Major)."

Colonel F. E. Lewes was present at the mutiny of the 51st Bengal Native Infantry at Peshawur on the 28th Angust 1857, and served in the Peshawur Division under Sir Sydney Cotton during the Indian Mutiny (Medal). Also served against the Mahsood Wuzeerees in the expedition under Brigadier General Sir N. Chamberlain, in April and May 1860 with the Peshawur Mountain Battery (Medal with Clasp). Commanded two mountain guns at surprise of the Bezotee village of Gara on the 25th Feb. in the Kohat expedition of 1869, under Colonel Keyes, and was mentioned in despatches, and specially thanked by the Governor General in Council.

Colonel H. A. Lewes was present at the outbreak of the mutiny at Meerut on the 1th May 1857, and was everely wounded. Served with the Meerut Volunteer Horse raised for service in that district, and afterwards ta 7th Punjaub Infantry at the actions of Gungerce and Puttiallee, attack on and reoccupation of Mynpoorie, at Bangaon, assault and capture of Forts Delain and Tirroul, operations of Brigadier Kelly's Force in the Terai, and forcing of the enemy's position in the Jurwah Pass, lower Nepaul Range (Medal). Served as Adjutant th Panjaub Infantry during the Bhootal campaign in 1864-65, and was engaged at the capture of Fort; Dalimkote and Chamoorchee, and at the Bala Pass, and Nagoh stockades (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Afghan war in -80 with the Koorum Valley Force (Medal).

Colonel C. M. Longmore accompanied the force under General Wheeler towards Jummoo in 1846. Served with the right column of the Bhootan field force under Brigadier General Richardson in 1865-66, and was present at the capture of Suleekah, and with the advance thence to the Moonas Bridge where the guns that fell into the enemy's hands were surrendered (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel C. O. Lord was present in pursuit of the Gwalior rebels under Tantia Topee, the Rao Saheb, and the Nawab of Banda in June July and August 1858; and the action at Sanganeer on the 8th, and at the battle of the dunass on the 14th of August 1858 (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel J. R. Lovett landed with the 48th Regiment in the Crimea on the 21st April 1855 and served at the ere and fall of Sebastopol, and was on detached duty in the Dockyard from 14th January to 14th March 1856 Metal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel P. B. Lucas served the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49 with the roth Regiment, including the whole of the ere operations before Mooltan, affair of the 9th Sept., storming the enemy's strongly entrenched position and surrener of the fortress; afterwards present at the battle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Served in the Indian caman of 1857-58, including the advance on Lucknow and actions at Chanda, Umeerpore, and Sultanpore, siege and apture of Lucknow, relief of Azimghur, capture of Jugdespore, and operations in its vicinity (Medal with Clasp). Colonel SF. M'Gillivray served with the Persian Expeditionary Force on its march to Borazjoon, at the attle of Kooshab, and at the capture of Mohumra on the 25th March 1857 (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Deccan against the rebel Bheels in 1857-58; present at the engagements of Shumshapoor and Digrish. 1 Colonel A. J. J. Macdonald served in the 95th Regt. in the Eastern campaign up to 6th Nov. 1854, includ. the battle of Alma (wounded), siege of Sebastopol, sortie of 26th October, and battle of Inkerman, where he was angerously wounded, having received seventeen bayonet stabs (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Major, Saran and Turkish Medals).

Colonel W. C. MacDougall served in the Puniaub campaign of 1848-49, and was present at the siege and surrender of Mooltan-wounded (Medal with Clasp).

Colonel F. J. N. Mackenzie served with the Kamptee movable column and was engaged against the Bandelas and the mutineers of the 522d Native Infantry in August and September 1857 (Medal).

Colonel H. Mackenzie served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the battles of Chillianwallah and Goonerat (Medal with two Clasps).

Colonel J. K. D. Mackenzie served with the 86th Regiment with the Malwa, Nerbudda, and Central India Field Forces in 1857-58; present at the siege and capture of Dhar, operations at Munde sore, and battle of Goodaria

173 Colonel John Mackenzie served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, sortie of 26th October, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). 174 Colonel L. H. G. Maclean served with the 49th Regt. throughout the war with China (Medal), and was present at the first taking of Chusan, storm and capture of the heights above Canton, attack and capture of Amoy, second capture of Chusan, attack and capture of the heights of Chinhae, occupation of Ningpo and repulse of the night attack, attack and capture of Chapoo, Woosung, and Chin Kiang Foo.

175 Colonel J. R. Magrath served as a volunteer with His Highness the Nizam's Troops in the affair at Bhuddrachellum on the oth June 1849. Served in the second Burmese war and present at the operations near Donabew-wounded on the left side while leading Infantry to the attack of the stockade on 19th March 1853-Commanded the Artillery cat of action the same day (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). As Political Officer accompanied an expedition against Kookies in 1861. While in civil charge of the Eastern Frontier of Bengal attacked and defented with severe loss a large force of Kookies which has quieted the tribes ever since. Mentioned in despatches, and received the thanks of Govern ment on every occasion of being under fire.

Served throughout the Abyssinian campaign having landed with the Pioneer Force st Zoulla on the 4th Oct. 1867; commanded a Native Mountain Battery forming a portion of the Abyssinian Advanc Brigade; appointed Field Commissary of Ordnance and brought the reserve ammunition to Magdala, destroyed all the captured ordnance, and brought back all reserve ammunition (mentioned in despatches, and Medal).

Served at every British possession in Western Africa, for fourteen years, and was present at the the attack made upon the Ashantees near the village of Donguah, 26th September 1823, under Sir Charles M'Cart Present also at the destruction of the native Dutch town of Succondee, 17th February 1824, and employed in the boats of H.M. ships of war skirmishing with the natives of that town and the Ashantees on the following morni In action against the Ashantees, 21st May 1824; and at the defeat of their army on the heights in rear of Cape Cout Castle, 11th July following. On the 4th February 1826, whilst in command of Dixcove Fort, he was attacked t about 6,000 natives, the garrison consisting of only one corporal and nineteen privates (natives), Royal African Cory with these he defended the post, and forced the enemy to retreat with much loss in killed and wounded. Beques the above he has been in various skirmishes with the natives.

Colonel G. A. Morgan served with the 55th Regiment in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and sortie of 26th October. During the latter months of the siege he was Aide de Camp to Brigadier General Warren, and as such was severely wounded at the assault of the Redan on the 8th September-mentioned in despatches (Medal with three Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel J. W. H. C. G. Morris served with the Baltic expedition in 1855 (Medal). Served also in New Zealand against the Maories in 1860, including the attack on Puketakauere on 27th June, and was thanked in General Fratt's despatch (Brevet of Major, Medal).

R. Osborn served as Brigade Major to the Cavalry portion of the force employed on the Eusofzaie frontier in April and May 1858, under Sir Sydney Cotton (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp).

Colonel R. Ouseley served throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the affair of Ramnuggur, Bad battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah, and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Colonel L. G. Paget served in India in 1857-59, and was present with Malcolm's Field Force at the defeat of a body of rebels near Nurgoond, storm and occupation of the Petah and capture of the Fort of Nurgoond, and defeat of Tantia Topee at Chupra Burode (twice mentioned in despatches, Medal).

Colonel R. Parke served in the China expedition of 1857-58, and was at the blockade of the Canton river, and Major of the 1st Battalion at the landing before and storming of the city (Brevet of Major). Accompanied the expeon to the north of China, and in command of the 1st Battalion at the attack on the forts at the Peiho on 25th June 1859, and brought the Brigade out of action (mentioned in despatches, and Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Сагрі.

Colonel P. T. M. Payne served with the Royal Marine Brigade in the Crimea and at the surrender of Kinbourn 1855 (Medal, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel G. F. Pearson was employed on field service with the Kamptee Movable Column in the Saugor and Merbadda Territories and Raepore district from 13th November 1857 to 30th April 1858, and was present at a Back upon and defeat of a large body of rebels at Khonee Pass in the Jubbulpore district on the 27th December (Medal).

Colonel H. Phillips served with the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1857, and was present at the bombardand capture of the forts of Mohumra (Medal and Clasp). Served also with the force under Brigadier Coghlan which captured and destroyed the fort of Sheik Othman in the vicinity of Aden in 1858.

Colonel F. L. Playfair served during the second Burmese war, and was present at the attack and capture of Bang on 12th and 14th April 1852 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu).

Colonel A. G. Plomer served with the Light Battalion in the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1857, and was present at the bombardment and capture of the Forts of Mohumra, and pursuit of the Persian Army (Medal and asp). Served in the suppression of the mutiny at Aurungabad in June 1857, and subsequent relief of Mhow; at sege and capture of the Fort of Dhar; also in the actions in front of Mundesore, battle of Gurraria, and sequent capture of that village on the 23rd and 24th November 1857; at the siege and storm of the fortresses of Chandaree and Jhansi, battle of the Betwa, action at Koonch, the different actions on the banks of the Jumna from The 15th to the 23rd May 1858, ending in the capture of Calpce, action at Morar, and capture of Gwalior (Medal wth Clasp).

Sir George Pocock served with the 30th Regt. in the Crimea from the 20th June to Oct. 1855, including the siege dfall of Sebastopol, and was severely wounded at the assault of the Redan on the 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel F. T. Pollok accompanied a field force under Colonel Cotton in 1853-54 in the Prome and Tharawaddie tricts, employed in driving out gangs of Dacoits from Maoung-Gong-Gie, engaged in several minor affairs in Le districts.

Colonel L. Prendergast served with the Scots Greys in the Eastern campaign up to Oct. 1854, including the air of M'Kenzie's Farm, the battle of Balaklava (severely wounded by a musket bullet on the right foot), and Ege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal).

Colonel Purvis was at the taking of the Fort of Badamee in June 1841. Served in the Burmese war in 1852, commarded the Artillery at Martaban, and was present at the various attacks on that place by the Burmese (Medal for Pegu). Colonel M. Ramsay was present at the mutiny of the Native Troops at Jullunder on the 7th June 1857, and Bcompanied the force in pursuit (Medal).

Colonel Robert Reid served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49 (Medal), served also with the Flank Companies gth Regiment in the force under Sir Colin Campbell at the forcing of the Kohat Pass in February 1850. Served in the Peshawar Expeditionary Force on the Eusofzie Frontier under Sir Sydney Cotton in April and May 1858, d at the affair with the Hindostanee fanatics on the heights of Sittana on the 4th May (Medal with Clasp). Colonel Rice served with the 51st Light Infantry during the war in Burmah from April to August 1852; was on board the E.I.C. steam-sloop Sesostris during the Naval action and destruction of the enemy's stockades on the
