3 Lt.Colonel Browne served with the 97th Regiment in the Crimea from 4th May 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol and was on the storming party at the assault on the Redan on the 8th September-wounded, and mentioned in despatches for "distinguished conduct" (Medal with Clasp, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served also in Bengal in suppressing the mutiny in 1857-58. with the Jounpore Field Force in the actions of Nusrutpore, Chanda. Ummcerpore, and Sultanpore, afterwards at the siege and capture of Lucknow and storming of the Kaisarbagh (Medal with Clasp).

Lt.Colouel Fyler served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Present during the latter part of the New Zealand campaign (Medal).

Lt.Colonel Safford served with the 97th Regiment in Bengal in suppressing the mutiny in 1857-58-with the Jourpore Field Force in the actions of Chanda, Ummcerpore, and Sultanpore, afterwards at the siege and capture of Lucknow (Medal with Clasp).

6 Lt.Colonel Doran served with the 50th Regiment in the Crimea from 22nd Nov. 1854, including the siege and fal of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also the several campaigns in New Zealand from 15th Nov. 1863 to 1866, and was present at Waiari (mentioned in despatches), the storm and capture of Rangiawhia, repulse of the enemy's attack on the Camp at Nukumaru, and the affair of Kakaramea (Medal).

Lt.Colonel Leach served in the 50th Regiment in the Crimea, subsequent to the fall of Sebastopol, from the 19th September 1855 until the evacuation on 12th July 1856. Served also in the New Zealand war of 1863-66 as Orderly Officer to Colonel Waddy when commanding a Field Force in the Waikato in 1864; present at Waiari; appointed Aide de Camp to Brigadier General Waddy 7th Jan. 1865; and present at the attack and repulse of the enemy at Nukumaru (mentioned in despatches); appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant General 26th Jan. 1865, and present at the repulse of the enemy at Kakaramea (mentioned), and served throughout the campaign Wanganui district under Sir D. Cameron. Accompanied Major General Chute as D.A. Adjutant General during his campaign or the West Coast in 1965-66, and present at the assault and capture of Okatuku, Putahi, Otapawa, Ketemari, and Waikoko Pah (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, and Medal).

10 Major Smith was promoted Captain in the 97th Regiment in recognition of his gallant services when en gaged against the Indians at Orange Walk, British Honduras" on the 1st September 1872, on which occasion hi commanded a detachment of the 1st West India Regiment and was dangerously wounded by a musket-ball in thi breast.

13 Captain Wynyard served with the 50th Regiment in New Zealand during General Chute's campaign of 186 (Medal).

15 Captain Burnett.- For War Services, see Army Pay Department.

16 Quarter Master Clifford served with the 21st Fusiliers in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engage ment at Ulundi (Medal with Clasp).

Continuation of Notes to the King's Own Lt. Infantry (South Yorkshire Regt.).

1 General Errington served with the 51st Light lufantry during the war in Burmah from April to Dec. 185 was on board the E.I.C. steam-sloop Sexostris during the naval action and destruction of the enemy's stockad on the Rangoon River; served during the succeeding three days' operations in the vicinity, and commanded th Regiment at the storm and capture of Rangoon; he also commanded the troops engaged at the assault and capta of Bassein, 19th May (wounded), and received the especial approbation of the Governor General in Council for h services upon this occasion (Medal with Clasp for Pegu, and Brevet of Lt.Colonel).

2 General Malcolm served on the first China expedition (Medal, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, and CB.).

3 Colonel Acton served with the 51st Light Infantry in Burmah from Feb. 1853 to the end of the war, and w present with Captain Irby's Detachment of four Companies with Brigadier General Cheape's Force during whole of the successful operations in the Monabew district, ending in the assault and capture, on the 19th Mar 1853, of the stronghold of the Burmese chief Dyattoon (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Served with the 51st Lig Infantry throughout the Afghan war of 1878-80, during the latter part of the war in command of the regimen and was present at the attack and capture of Ali Musjid, and with Brigadier General Gough's force in th advance to Cabul (several times mentioned in despatches, CB., Medal with two Clasps).

Lt.Colonel Daniell served with the Transport Train throughout the Abyssinian campaign from 4th Dec. 18 to the 15th June 1868 (mentioned in despatches for "ability, energy, and zeal," Medal).

Lt.Colonel Burnaby served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Umbeyla expedition in 1963. Also served the Jowaki campaign in 1877 (Medal with Clasp). Served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Afghan war of 1878-4 and was present at the attack and capture of Ali Musjid, in the operations in the Bazar and Lughman Valle (wounded), and at the affair at Nargashai (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp). 11 Major White served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Jowaki campaign in 1877 (Medal with Clasp). Serv with the 51st Light Infantry in the Afghan war in 1879-80 (Medal).

13 Captain Denshire and Lieut. Butler served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Afghan war of 1878-80 (Medal 1 Captain Kennett served with the sist Light Infantry in the Jowaki campaign in 1877 (Medal with Clasp Served with the 1st Light Infantry in the Afghan war of 1878-80, and took part in the operations in the Lughans and Hissarik Valleys--wounded (Medal).

15 Captain Seppings served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Afghan war of 1878-86, and was present at t attack and capture of Ali Musjid (Medal with Clasp).

Mackenzie in Arabia from 27th October to the 20th December 1873, including the investment, surrender, occupation, and destruction of Fort at Al-Hota, and subsequent march to Zaida in pursuit of Ally Bin Mana, the chief of Houshabi,

18: Caries Trollope commanded the Troops in the Island of Cephalonia in 1348, 49. and 50. the towns of Argostoli and Lixuri were attacked by armed banditti, who were repulsed by the troops with on both sides. In 1849 the island was disturbed by armed insurgents-martial law was proclaimed, which reated in force for six weeks, and was carried into effect by him; received the thanks of the Queen, and of the ature of the Ionian Islands, and was voted a sword by the inhabitants of Cephalonia. Served the Eastern from 10th Nov. 1854-from the 12th Nov. until July 1855 as Colonel on the Staff, he commanded the 1st de 2nd Division; on 31st July he was Gazetted Brigadier General, and commanded 2nd Brigade 3rd Divithat date until the Army was broken up. Commanded in the Trenches as General of the Day, right sack on three separate occasions when sorties were made upon them and repulsed, and was present on all other when the 2nd Division was employed, including the 8th and 18th June--on the former in command of Guard, and on the latter in cominand of five Regiments; on the 8th Sept. he was in command of 2nd 1 reserve with the 3rd Division (Medal with Clasps, CB.,Officer of the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Malals, and 3rd Class of the Medjidie).
